My experience with Rimmel London ScandalEyes Shadow Paint Slate Grey:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a elongated transparent slim bottle and has a black colored cap which has the sponge applicator attached. The cap screw opens and shuts firmly leaving no scope for any leakage, thereby making the product easy to be carried in bags.
Texture: They have a very creamy texture. The eye shadow paint has shimmers and the shimmers in it make the texture just a bit gritty which is avoidable and does not hinder smooth application
Applicator: The applicator is very decent and does its job very precisely. I personally feel that there is no other way to get the product on your lids other than this doe foot sponge applicator and thankfully the applicator works nicely and picks up just the required amount of the product.
Shade: It is shiny shade of grey which has heavy hints of metallic blue. I quite like the shade. The best news for the shiny eye shadows lovers is than the metallic finish of this shade persists as long as the eye shadow is on your lid.
Pigmentation: These eye shadows have decent pigmentation and this shade is no exception. Despite of the fact that this has nice color pay off, but still double swipes are required for proper application since this shades appears streaky in a single swipe.
My Take: I am quite liking these shadow paints. Well the concept of this product has somehow managed to keep me attracted towards it.
Coming to this shade, I like wearing this.
It has good pigmentation and a good texture, i.e., not so gritty texture but still there is some lag with its application.
Unlike Chestnut Taupe from this range, Slate Grey is streaky in a single swipe and tends to get heavy with second swipe if you do not apply it carefully.
So you got to be careful with its application and try not to thicken the layer.
This eye shadow once dried stays as it is for long hours without creasing or fading and there is hardly any need to look for touch ups, infact touch ups are never a good idea with such products. Thankfully this product does not ever call for a touch up.
If you are looking for a blended look with this eye shadow paint then I would suggest you to be a little quick because once it has dried then you cannot do anything with it other than to remove it. This eye shadow paint dries really quickly.
What I Like About Rimmel London ScandalEyes Shadow Paint Slate Grey :
- Awesome pigmentation.
- Creamy texture.
- Stays for really long durations.
- Comes off easily with baby oil or makeup remover.
- Does not irritate eyes at all.
- Can be worked in various ways, thick or blended.
What I Don’t Like About Rimmel London ScandalEyes Shadow Paint Slate Grey:
- Requires practice for easy application.
- The microshimmers in it make the texture a bit gritty, though not very gritty.
Will I recommend: Yes, a metallic blue toned grey shade is really gorgeous and one should definitely try it.
