Today let me start with a question!
Have ever the thought of having gray hair scared you?Or you already have faced this night mare?
Well, three years back I encountered with two gray hair strands and I literally wept because I thought it was too early for me to have gray hair. Luckily the gray strands have again changed their color and are growing like my rest of the hair color from the roots.
Yes, it is very normal to see an aged person with gray hair but it by no means say that only aged person will have gray hair.
“Humne dhoop mein baal safed nhi kiye hain” is a very old phrase used in India which means that it is the old age that has given him gray hair and over the years from young age to old age he has gained a lot of experience, of course gray hair are sign of his experience!!!
I seriously do not get along with this phrase much and gray hair are not sign of long life experience’ In fact there are some other reasons behind having gray hair.

Our hair follicles contain a pigment called melanin. When a person’s body stops producing these pigments or these pigment cells die, the hair then start to become colorless, making them transparent and white turning white. It is the combination of black and white hair, which gives the look of gray color to a person’s hair. It is not necessary that only an old age hinders the melanin production but it is true in most cases. And that is why hair graying is mostly associated with age.
As you all must know any hair disorder is mostly associated with lack of nourishment and nutrition. These are the foremost reasons for premature graying of hair as well.

Actually when there is lack of oil gland production in the hair follicles, then the hair begins to loose its nourishment & nutrition which causes Gray hair.
Diet plays a crucial role in premature graying of the hair and deficiency of Vitamin B, copper, iron and iodine are main causes premature graying.
Gray hair caused due to these deficiencies or due to problems with your pituitary or thyroid gland is seldom reversible if the problem is corrected at the right phase of time.
An underactive or overactive thyroid can adversely affect the melanin production in the hair which results in premature graying of hair.
Vitiligo is a disease which is caused when the pigment producing cells in a person’s skin and hair are damaged.
The damaged pigment producing cell hinders melanin production which turns the hair gray.
Many a times, gray hair is a result of excessive anxieties and worries.
