I’m here today with yet another eyeliner post, but not any ordinary eyeliner. It has become one of my favorites amongst the gel liners in the market and it is the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Liner in the shade Black Ink 1.
About Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner:
This award-winning liner gives you the look of liquid liner with the ease & feel of a gel formula. Long-wearing, water-resistant color glides on & lets you get it just right before it dries – then stays without a smear or crease.
To apply: Dip tip of Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush (coat both sides of brush head). Wipe off excess before applying to eye. Work quickly as product becomes transfer-resistant once dry. To remove, use Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover.
Price: 24 $ (0.1 oz. / 3 g)
My take on Bobbi Brown Long wear Gel liner Black Ink 1:
No doubt, Bobbi Brown products always have a classy packaging. Like all the other gel liners, Black Ink 1 too comes in a tiny little glass jar with a black colored screw lid. The logo is printed on top of the lid and a circular sticker is placed on the bottom with the shade code on it. Spotting the jar in my stash is easy because of the transparency. And since it is tiny, I can carry it around in my purse as well. I have dropped it a couple if times but it has not smashed or cracked thankfully. You would need to invest on a good applicator brush since it doesn’t come with one.
Color: As the name states, Black Ink 1 is indeed black ink. True black in a matte finish.
Texture: Glides smoothly over my eyelid without smearing. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning about gel liners that it would smudge or smear but I was totally wrong. It dries really fast too so you have to be really accurate with your application. You can use an angular applicator brush because it is easier to apply with it. It is crease resistant and can withstand sweat thankfully, since I live in a highly humid city. It is true matte in finish. I added a tiny amount of water to it to create a dramatic style as seen in the eye swatches below.
Staying Power: It is water resistant and can handle humidity well like I had said earlier. It lasted for an entire day on my lids but it may differ on individuals though. Since it is water resistant, I would suggest using a good makeup remover for it.
