These days I’m using a facial kit that is meant specifically for oily skin besides a few other products. I like the effect on my skin. These cleanse skin well, soften it and reduce the appearance of pores too. Here is a step by step guide for how to do facial for oily skin-
Oily skin needs a cleanser that is not heavy on skin and effectively removes excess oil. Take some pieces of cucumber in a blender. Add in 1 tablespoon lime-juice and few mint leaves. Blend these together. Apply it on your face and massage. Leave for around 10 minutes. Wash off with cold water.Mint in the cleanser soothes the skin. Lemon will remove dead cells and cucumber will nourish skin without drying it.
After cleansing, the next step is the removal of dead skin. Grind a few almonds into a coarse powder. It shouldn’t be too harsh or too powdery thin. Add in 2 tsp honey and your scrub is ready. Scrub your face gently in circular motions for 2-3 minutes.
This scrub smoothens skin and lightens blemishes.
Steaming will open the pores and make the massaging more effective. You can either use a towel dipped in warm water for steaming or use a steamer. You can also boil water in a big vessel and take steam from it.
You do not need a highly moisturising massage cream. For massaging oily skin girls can use fresh aloe vera gel. It provides the needed moisture without making your skin greasy. You can make your own fruit massage cream at home. Take a tbsp. cucumber pulp, a tsp. orange juice and 1/4th tsp. honey. Mix these ingredients well to make a smooth paste and add a drop of peppermint oil. Then massage your face well with this. Massage for at least 5 minutes.
Make a mask that saps excess oil without drying out the skin. Make a mixture of multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) and aloe vera gel/juice. Slather this on face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with cold water. This mask imparts glow the skin.
Now you need to close the pores that have been opened by all the above steps. You can use pure rose water to tone your skin. Another good toner for oily skin is white vinegar. Mix white vinegar with water in equal quantities.
Dip a cotton ball in toner and wipe your face with it.
Again aloe vera gel is the cheapest and best moisturiser for oily skin. You can make rose moisturiser at home too. For this you need to boil around 25 rose petals in a cup of water. Let it cool down and strain. Add 2 tbsp. aloe vera juice to it. Your light moisturiser is ready. Pat it lightly on skin.
If you follow this easy homemade facial for oily skin once in every 15 days, you will get soft, glowing skin that is not greasy.
