The Body Shop Smooth & Renew Body Loofah Mitt Review + Why & How To Use Loofah, Precautions + Video
How are you all doing?
Today I shall review a loofah by The Body Shop, the loofah is not available online and I got it from TBS outlet. But before I review the Loofah, let me first tell you all little basics about using a loofah.
The upper skin layer which is known as the Epidermis sheds out dead skin cells. While some dead skin sheds off due to friction but some do not. If the dead skin cells happen to stay on our skin for long, then it may make our complexion dull and make it look ashy as well.
You can use loofah as a natural way to remove these dead cells. Moreover a loofah helps in improving circulation of skin and also tackles the ingrown problems.
Precautions To Follow With A Loofah:
Since loofahs have tiny holes, they can have germs build up very easily and quickly. So this makes it a compulsion to give the loofah a good bath as well, at least once a week. Soak your loofah in hot water for few minutes and then allow it to air dry. Also no matter how good quality your loofah is of, you should change your loofah in one and a half months since a loofah may not prevent germ build up for very long.
Now that you know why using a loofah is essential, let me now just head towards the review:

My take on The Body Shop Smooth & Renew Body Loofah Mitt:
Loofahs are great for exfoliating body and scrub off the dead cells. I usually use body scrubs but when I am running out of time, loofah comes to my rescue and it helps scrub off the dead cells from body I just few minutes. Such a time savior it is.
TBS loofah is a nice loofah though a bit pricey, but then the quality it has speaks for its price. Unlike the local variants of loofah which are harsh for body, The TBS loofah is a bit gentle in comparison to them and yet does it job effectively. Of course you can never think of skipping a moisturizer post using a loofah and the same goes with this loofah too or else you will have a very dry skin.
This loofah fits in my hand perfectly, neither too loose nor too tight. It does not make my skin irritated or itchy.
Since the loofah is a little stiff, I immerse this loofah in hot water for a minute and then pour some of the body wash on loofah to exfoliate. The total procedure takes about 4-5 minutes, which to me looks pretty quick as the exfoliation process with a body scrub takes a bit more of time.
I found this loofah a little hard to bend for the first 4-5 uses but after it became easy to use.
What I Like About The Body Shop Smooth & Renew Body Loofah Mitt:
- Does its job well.
- A good quality loofah.
- Does not irritate my skin or leave it itchy.
- Better than other Loofahs available here.
What I Don’t Like About The Body Shop Smooth & Renew Body Loofah Mitt:
- Stiff and Hard To bend initially, only after 4-5 washes I was able to bend it with ease.
- Available only in one size.
- Some may find it pricey.
Will I Recommend: Definitely yes, this is a good loofah which one should definitely try, though the price may be bothersome for few.
