Hey all beauty geeks!!! Today I am going to review Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach. If you are a make-up enthusiast, there is a remote possibility that you have not heard about this cult favorite. Makeup artists to you-tube beauty gurus rave about this corrector. In fact, it is considered as a game changer for beauties suffering from harsh dark circles. I do not have hereditary dark circles, however, erratic sleep timings and constant laptop exposure has made my under-eye circles dark. So, after giving it a good thought, I ordered the Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach.
Lets see how it performed on me.
About Bobbi Brown Corrector:
Bobbi Brown is a premium brand of cosmetics. The website describes the corrector as:
‘A wakeup call for tired eyes. Corrector is pink– or peach-based to neutralize under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before Creamy Concealer. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that’s easy to blend and won’t crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area.’
Price : $25 for 1.4g.
My take on Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach:
Bobbi Brown corrector comes in several shades and is differentiated primarily into two undertones – pink and peach. Every undertone has various shades to offer and I am pretty sure, everyone will definitely get a shade suitable for their skin tone. Since I ordered online, the peach shade looked appropriate for me. I am NW37 and the peach shade looked perfect for brightening my under-eyes. Do note that I am not into highlighting my under-eye area. So, this shade is very similar to my skin-tone and not 2-3 shades lighter.
Honestly, I was very apprehensive while using this product. More than often, these kind of products do not perform as they are expected to. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach did an awesome job in covering my dark under-eye circles. And the best part is it did not look ashy at all. Generally, you need to wear a concealer on a corrector to get the best effect possible. However, just this corrector and a dab of foundation are enough for me to cover the dark circles. Perfect for hasty mornings and quick makeup routine.
The best way to apply the corrector is to apply very very thin layers and allow the layers to set properly. This will ensure that your under-eye fine lines are less visible. You also need a very well moisturized under-eye area for this corrector. Be regular in moisturizing the under-eye area. You can’t just apply an under-eye cream one morning and expect it to work well. The other dilemma with this product is that the under-eye area should not be over-moisturized. Otherwise, the corrector will never set and continue to move around your under-eye area. Phew!!!
Texture: Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach has a very creamy and thick texture. Yes, you heard it right. It has a thick texture, but it gets blended well with your fingers. It might crease, if not set properly. For beauties having several fine lines, it might emphasize your lines.
Pigmentation: Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach has very impressive pigmentation. I just need two swipes to cover and brighten my under-eye circles.
Staying Power: Very long-lasting, if set with a good setting powder. If you do not set it, it will crease and eventually move around a lot.
Packaging: Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach has a regular Bobbi Brown packaging. The corrector comes in a circular compact with a mirror inside. The outer body is black with the brand name mentioned on the top.
What I love about Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach:
- Excellent in covering dark circles.
- Can also be used to cover dark spots to a certain extent.
- Easily blendable.
- Instantly brightens the eyes.
- Does not look ashy. (Finally)
- Very creamy texture.
- Does not dry your under-eye area.
- Impressive coverage.
- Decent staying power.
- Can be used without a concealer on medium skin tones.
What I do not love about Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach:
- May crease if applied more or not set properly.
- May emphasize under-eye fine lines.
- Needs regular well moisturized under-eyes for the best effect.
- Less quantity compared to the price.
- Expensive for a corrector.
- Unavailability in India.
Final Impression: Well, I have to say that the Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach did not disappoint me at all. Very effective in brightening the under-eye area and making your dark circles look less visible. I think it is must for medium skin tones that have darkness in some areas of the face. It is little tricky to work with, but worth the effect it gives. Highly Recommended!!!
