I’m here with another shade of Bourjois Rouge edition velvet and this time it is the darkest from their range, so MARSALA it looks to me, what say you? The moment I applied this I was totally in love with the shade of the year, I’m not sure if you agree with me but to me this looks like a perfect FALL SHADE.

My experience with Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 8 Grand Cru:
Shade – No 8 Grand Cru is warm toned deep dark Burgundy Wine shade with soft velvety matte finish to it. I’m NC 40 and even without any makeup my skin was looking so bright and polished, if you are doing full on base am sure it will come out even more stark. I have to mention that when I wore this , my hubby came to me and said “ So much foundation you are wearing” and I was like “HELL , I don’t even have concealer leave aside foundation “ . The shade is very flattering but may be little too much for lighter skin tone.
Texture and staying power – The texture of this is little different from other two shades I tried , it doesn’t come as even in single stroke and I have to cover unevenness with another layer and then also I need to be really careful . I just have this con for a shade like this, else it is wonderful. It has same velvety feeling and doesn’t settle in fine lines. I get 5 – 6 hrs of solid wear with this and then it starts to fade from inner corners. The last traces of the colour needs to be removed with good makeup remover.
Pigmentation – It is beautifully pigmented and is opaque in two layers, just at some places it looks uneven but another layer and it sits pretty for hrs.
What I like about Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 8 Grand Cru:
- The shade is super gorgeous.
- The finish is to die for.
- The staying power is awesome.
- The packaging is simple and easy to work with.
What I don’t like about Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 8 Grand Cru:
- They are not yet launched in India.
- The finish is little uneven in single layer and need to be carefully applied.
Ratings – 4.5/5
Recommendations – When I tried this shade for the first time it was little uneven, second time it went smooth but required a lot of detailing to cover every corners evenly. I didn’t face any issue with the two shades I tried and hence deducting just .5 for this. It is stunning shade and is very flattering, very GOTH , I would say.
