My Take on Mac Pro Glitter Reflects Blackened Red:
Packaging: This glitter is from Mac pro range. Packaging of pro range of glitters is very similar to the regular ones. These come in cylindrical wide jars with a screw on cap with it. All the details including list of ingredients in mentioned at the back of the carton. I did not buy the full size as in India Mac has increased its prices recently like bomb. I got hold of the sample of this product which comes in a small round jar with a screw cap with it. Logo of Mac is engraved over the screw cap.
Shade: Mac describes this shade as Sparkling Burgundy Glitter. Mac reflects blackened red pro glitter is a fantastic rich burgundy glitter with black hue to it. This shade looks really dramatic when used. This is somehow similar to Mac heritage rouge pigment. I just love this shade very much and would love to buy as many shades from this range.
Pigmentation: Mac reflects blackened red is moderately pigmented but looks dramatic. It looks more pigmented when used over another eye shadow or when used wet. It looks great on me over Mac cream base ‘Idyllic’.
Texture & Finish: Its a full on shimmery, glittery product with varied usage. Its a bit on sheerer side when used dry, however it looks more dramatic when used with a wet brush. One can spray little amount of Mac Fix+ on the bristle of the brush and use it.
Longevity: Mac glitters are usually advised to be used on skin, hair and face except eyes. However, I have seen most of the bloggers using it on their eyes. I generally use this on my eyes. This glitter is bit sheer and results in fall out when used without a primer or without a wet brush. I use a wet brush to apply this product which makes it adhere well over the primer. I use a burgundy brown eye shadow first, then apply this glitter on top of that with a wet brush. I experienced fall out, though not massive still I did after 3-4 hours. Its a Complete no during humid weather. It stays for nearly 4-5 hours with a primer. I used it use Mac base ‘Idyllic’ and it stays for longer period.

- -It stays for longer time over a primer or Mac base.
- -There little fall out when used wet.
- -Its multipurpose product- can be used on face, hair, skin.
- -There are some amazing glitters in Mac’s pro range.
What I did not like about Mac Pro Glitter Reflects Blackened Red:
- -Only available at Pro stores, if you are looking for full size product.
- -It is damn pricy now in India.
- -It causes fall out.
- -It does not stay for longer time without a primer or when used dry.
- -Not suitable for eye area, may cause irritation.
- -Its quite sheer when used alone.
Will I repurchase it? Most definitely yes! I am absolutely loving this glitter pigment from Mac. I would love to try few other shades like 3D Silver, copper and gold from this range.
My Overall Recommendation: Mac reflects blackened is a fantastic burgundy glitter with a blackened hue to it. It looks great when used wet, and stays on for longer time with minimal fall out. However, when it is used dry, its quite sheer and results in massive fall out, also stays on for lesser time. However, once you get the hack of it, you would simply love it. You would either love it or hate it.
