My hair is curly and dry and so I have a habit of picking up any conditioner that says it is ‘taming’,’hydrating’,’defrizzing’,’smoothing’ etc. Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing Conditioner was one such pick. Matrix is a sought after brand; you can see salons hoarding its products. So this must be a good product; or so I thought.
About Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing Conditioner:
I read on the net that Camellia oil, pressed from the seeds of Camellia/tea flower has been traditionally used in Japan for hair care.
Price: Rs 170 for 98g

I applied a small amount to my shampooed hair, detangling my hair in sections. The product is extremely slippery and so tangles came out in a jiff.
Good slip is a sought after characteristic by curly haired girls but this product made me realize (later) that too much is not good. I then left the conditioner on for about 3-5 minutes. After towel drying my hair I left it to air dry overnight.
The next morning I woke up to horrible hair. It was all in frizz and fly-a-ways. My hair felt strange to touch. The amazing slip is due to the truck load of silicones in it and silicones are bad for curls.
Texture: Creamy, not runny
Spreadability: Amazing slip
Smell: Nice smell
Packaging: Plastic bottle with a flip-cap
What I like about Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing Conditioner:
- Good smell
- Travel friendly bottle
- Good slip and detangling
- Easily available
What I don’t like about Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing Conditioner:
- Causes extreme frizz and fly-a-ways (According to me a product that does opposite to what it claims is worse than a product that does nothing)
- Loaded with silicones
Would I Repurchase/Recommend this? I would never repurchase this again. It destroys my curls. I though recommend people with straight hair to give this a try, as this may smooth straight hair.
