5 Organic Face Packs – DIY Recipes
I love using homemade face packs to treat whatever skin problems I have or sometimes to pamper skin just like that and if the product I am using is prepared in an organic way, the process becomes even more enjoyable and effective. Yes, organic food which is produced using environmentally and animal friendly farming methods on organic farm are way more effective than non-organic ones.
In short organic foods are produced without chemical fertilizers and pesticides which makes them more effective as skin pampering agents.
Organic face masks make a great once or twice weekly addition to any skin care routine. Let’s go through some of the recipes.
Strawberry and Cream/Yogurt Mask
Mash 2-3 strawberries. Then add some fresh cream to the puree if your skin is dry. Add yogurt for oily skin. Slather on face and neck and leave for 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This mask is good for acne prone skin
Tomatoes and Honey
Grate a tomato and mix with some honey to increase its viscosity so that it can easily be applied on the skin. Tomatoes are mildly acidic in nature and are known for its natural bleaching properties that help in skin lightening. It contains potassium and vitamin C which is excellent for the skin. The honey added to the mixture provides the much needed moisture and other nutrients to the skin.
Take an egg and separate the yolk from the white portion. Add 1-2 drops of lemon or honey to it. Lemon if you have oily skin and honey if you have dry skin. Wipe your face with warm cloth to open your pores. You can steam as well. Beat the egg white until it becomes fluffy. Apply some of the egg white on your face in circular upward motions. Avoid the eye area. Cut few tissue papers and apply them on your face over the egg. Press firmly so that the tissue paper sticks to your skin. Apply another coat of egg white mix, wait for a minute or two and apply the final coat. Let it dry and gently peel off. Wash the egg white and tissue residues off of your face and moisturize as usual. This mask will tighten your skin and pores and will leave your skin feeling soft, supple and most importantly, blackheads free.
Mash one banana thoroughly (you can blend it as well) and mix with 2 teaspoons of curd (preferably homemade) and one teaspoon of honey. Mix well, apply to the face and neck and keep it for 30 minutes before rinsing off with normal water.
This adds the punch and goodness of all fruits clubbed together. Blend all the fruits you want together. You can add a spoon of yogurt to form a base or use the pulp of the fruits alone. Thoroughly massage on your skin with circular motions. Leave for about 30 minutes and wash off.
