Coastal Scents Hot Pot 023 Black Berry
I am back with another eye shadow review from Coastal Scents. It is the hot pot in Black Berry.
About Coastal Scents Hot Pot:
We offer Blush Hot Pots labeled with the letter B and our eye shadows in different finishes identified by the following letters: Matte (M) and Satin/Shimmer (S). You may also select shades from our Creative Me #1 Palette labeled CM and our Metal Mania and Creative Me #2 Palettes labeled ME.
My experience with Coastal Scents Hot Pot Black Berry.
Packaging: The eye shadow pan is housed in a sturdy plastic case with a scissor lock. The plastic case keeps the pan safe and protects the product inside from any sort of damages. The shade number is written at base.
Shade: Coastal scents describes it as “A deep mauve and navy hue with a slight satiny finish.” In real it is a deep blackish brown with purple undertones and pretty purple shimmers which are totally non visible on eyes and on eyes it looks a very gorgeous flattering brown. I love pairing it with black shadows.
Texture: It has a semi-satiny texture which is smooth and velvety – great quality. It almost felt matte, but not at all chalky and there is no fall out at all. It is easy to apply and blends well with other shades too.
Pigmentation: Insanely pigmented. It shows even without a primer. Very rich and one swipe gives a pretty flush of color on eyes. The shade is buildable and thus can be intensified as per choice.
Staying power: The staying power is amazing and it stayed intact on me for more than 8 hours. No smudging or fading. Though it comes out with a minimal cleanse in one swipe.
Summing up my likes and Dislikes:-
What I like about Coastal Scents Hot Pot 023 in Black Berry:
- Gorgeous versatile shade.
- Finely milled shimmers.
- Smooth texture.
- Blends like a dream.
- Well pigmented.
- Stays long.
- Cute packaging.
- Dirt Cheap.
- Pick up your own colors and customize your pallet.
What I don’t like about Coastal Scents Hot Pot 023 in Black Berry:
This doesn’t have a dupe in MAC, at least as far as I know.
But after comparing MAC Black Berry and Coastal Scents Black Berry I can say, MAC Black Berry is muted dark purple, with a not so good texture and not so good pigmentation, whereas Coastal Scents Black Berry has done a great job in this. A gorgeous shade, great texture, great pigmentation and color payoff but at a much lesser rate.
Final thoughts: This is a beautiful color! It’s easy to apply so it goes on really opaquely without much effort, and stays bold without fading over time. It’s versatile, as it can be used to create smoky eyes or combined with highlighters for that pop. Pick up it without any second thought, you’ll love it.
I would definitely purchase this and would recommend to everyone.
