Butter and Strawberry Face Mask
The natural alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) content in strawberry has strong anti-aging and anti-wrinkle properties that breakdown dead skin cells buildup to unclog pores, slow down aging process, prevent wrinkles and reveal a healthier skin and also helps to get rid of blemishes and acne.
In the strawberry face mask you can alter few ingredients to make the mask suit your skin type.
- 1 tbsp. unsalted softened butter
- Large strawberry (For all skin types)
- 1/4 small cucumber (For dark circles)
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice (For oily skin)
- One egg yolk (For dry skin)
Pour 1 tablespoon of unsalted softened butter in a blender. Butter is an excellent source of Vitamin A and is a perfect face mask for sensitive, damaged or sunburned skin.
Now add one large strawberry in the blender.
Now at this step, you will use the ingredient keeping note of your skin concern. Place about an inch slice of cucumber into the blender if combating dark circles around the eyes or puffiness in your face and neck is your concern. Cucumber not only reduces puffiness, but it is also the same pH as skin, gently cleansing without stripping your face of its natural protective oils. For added benefit, cut two thin slices of cucumber to cover your eyes during your facial, and eat the rest of the cucumber, which can help to reduce water retention. You can anyway even without any skin issue use cucumber as it is a great toner.
Squeeze 1 tablespoon of f fresh lemon juice into the blender if you have oily skin. Lemon is a great natural astringent and cleans oil from the skin without over-drying it. Lemon also cleans pores and helps in getting rid of blackheads and oily shine.
Or crack an egg and add the yolk to the blender if the face mask is for dry skins. Egg yolks contain high amounts of albumin that moisturize dry skin and will help to refine pores and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Blend together butter and your chosen ingredients. Now apply this face mask evenly to your clean face and neck and allow it to sit on your face for about 20 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Pat dry once you are done!
