My take on Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Face Powder in Translucent Medium:
Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Wrinkle Formula Face Powder is available in only two shades – Translucent Light and Translucent Medium. I picked up the one in Translucent Medium as I did not have any other choice. Though it is translucent, it has a color which unfortunately is lighter than my skin tone. However, it can still be worn without washing out medium skin tones. But you can not apply much.
Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Wrinkle Formula Face Powder in Translucent Medium is famous for covering fine lines and wrinkles. Though I do not have much fine lines, sometimes the foundation can make even the normal lines look evident. I have various setting powders and sprays to counter that effect. I expected this powder to perform on the same lines. However, this powder did nothing extra for me. Obviously, it sets the foundation well and makes it look natural. But does not do anything much about fine lines and pores on my face.
Texture: Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Wrinkle Formula Face Powder in Translucent Medium has a smooth and creamy texture. The powder is finely milled and has an almost matte finish. Sets the foundation well, giving it a velvety feel. It does not look cakey either.
Pigmentation: This powder has almost no color. So, any expectation of coverage is not justified. It won’t cover any major imperfections, though may even out the skin tone though.
Staying Power: Stays put for long, almost 6-8 hours. Oily skin beauties may find the staying power to be less though.
Packaging: It has a standard Physicians Formula packaging. A boring black plastic compact, with a mirror and brush provided in another section beneath the compact. The packaging is not very sturdy.
What I love about Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Face Powder in Translucent Medium :
- Physical Sunscreen included.
- Matte velvety finish.
- Evens out the skin tone.
- Goes on smoothly.
- Creamy texture.
- Sets the foundation well.
- Does not break out or irritate the skin.
What I do not love about Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Face Powder in Translucent Medium:
- Very minimal coverage.
- Does not control oil well.
- May wash you out if used more.
- Does not do much about fine lines and pores.
- Expensive for a drugstore pressed powder.
- Very limited color choices, esp. for medium and dark skin tones.
- Fragile packaging.
- Unavailability in India but may be available on ebay.
Final Impression: Physicians Formula CoverToxTen50 Wrinkle Formula Face Powder in Translucent Medium is just another powder that sets the foundation nicely and gives a natural feel. Other than that, it does not do any miracle to the skin as expressed in several reviews. May be it only suits the fair skin tones. I am going back to my trusty mineral powder foundation. Recommended if you are still looking for a good setting powder, otherwise definitely a pass for medium and deep skin tones.
