Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick 095 Finale
How are the rains treating you guys? Ah.. We north Indians have been subjected to some serious rain splash here these days and today morning I almost felt like I am waking up in Cherrapunji. Now most of you know here, hate unseasonal rainfall, but rains never fail to cheer me up- seasonal or unseasonal.
Getting on to today’s review, it is a lipstick that was launched long time back but the shade I own is not reviewed here yet. It is named ‘Finale’.

My experience with Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick 095 Finale:
The packaging of the lipstick: the flat tip bullet that you can see through the glass cap and the sturdy body is the thing which makes this lipstick desirable. When you see all the colors of this range displayed on the Revlon counter, you really feel like picking up a few. The packaging is definitely one of the reasons why I picked this up.
The texture is kind of tricky and hard to explain. At first it feels like a balm on application. You have to swipe 2-3 times to get some pigmentation on your lips. It has the stickiness of a balm. After some time, it kind of settles down and starts getting dry. It goes completely matte and dry after some more time and it may not be really comfortable if you have very dry lips. For me, I have normal lips that are neither too dry nor vice versa, so, the dry lipstick is still comfortable. This unexpected transformation may not be liked by everyone but I am kind of okay with it.
After a few hours or say after a meal, the lipstick gets weird and begins to flake a bit. I have uneven lipstick on my lips after around 3-4 hours or meals and that does not look pleasant at all. I am sure no one would like that phase of this lipstick. So after this period of time, I remove and reapply the lipstick. So I cannot use it on days I have to be out somewhere for longer time period as flaky uneven lip color is the last thing I would want to show to the world.
You must be wondering, how is my bullet all used up with such a temperamental lipstick that it is. Well, I really like the color of it. This shade looks very flattering on my face and since I do not have dry lips, I like wearing this one to places where I don’t need to be for more than 3 hours or so. This is one of my casual go around lipstick shades- the flattering tomato red. This shade would mostly suit women with all complexions but those with pale skin- try out at the counter first.
Overall, if you are looking for office wear lipstick, or something that you would want to wear for long hours, then this is certainly not the one.
It is good only for first few hours that too if you do not have dry lips. Take your call wisely.
What I like in Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Finale:
- The cute and attractive packaging.
- The flattering tomato red shade.
- The fact that it goes matte after some time.
- It has no funny fragrance.
What I do not like in Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Finale:
- It goes sticky and tends to flake after a few hours and/or meals.
- It goes uneven after the same time and does not look nice then.
- The balmy texture may not be liked by all.
- Not worth INR 715.
Had they given a better texture, I would have bought it in this shade again but this, as it is, I would not repurchase.
Until next time, take care!
