Moisturize Your Skin
Soon after a shower, pat dry the body and apply a light, non-greasy moisturizer. Please avoid drying your body in rubbing motions; this will make your skin drier. After night showers, you can moisturize your body with heavy moisturizers or you can even moisturize with nice body oils with essential oils mixed in them.
Never Skip Sunscreen
Even if you have no plans to step out in Sun, you must apply sunscreen. Dermatologists suggest sunscreens with a minimum of SPF 30 are a must. Apply sunscreen immediately after your day CTM skin care regime and not just it, you must also apply sunscreen in frequent 4 hours when you are under sun exposure.
For those choosing to swim and bask in sun, sun protective formula should be applied every hour to overcome the damaging impacts of sun burn, rashes and blister formation. Also ensure to apply generous amount of SPF half an hour before stepping out. Do not choose mattifying sunscreens for dry skins.
Exfoliate Your Skin Regularly
Try using natural scrubs like almonds, walnuts and apricots. They not only help in getting rid of dead skin, blackheads but also helps in restoring moisture in the skin and keep it supple.
For a homemade natural scrub grind 3-4 almonds and mix it with yogurt and massage your face in gentle scrubbing motions. Wash off with cold water. Repeat this twice a week. Yogurt will also help in tan removal.
Avoid Air Condition
It is a general tendency to use the AC in summer, but AC can suck up all the moisture in the body, thus leaving the skin dry. Try using the fans and coolers as much as possible and if avoiding ACs is next to impossible then try to keep the AC to a moderate level.
Keep Skin Hydrated
This is the most common and crucial skin care tip that you must follow during summers. Drinking coconut water, cucumber juice, watermelon and orange juices hydrates your body and provides nutrition too. Also drink at least two liters of water a day.
Eat Healthy Foods
A healthy skin comes from eating well and summer is the ideal time to make dietary changes for the better. Cut down on sugar intake and refined processed foods which create unbalanced blood sugar levels and therefore contribute to premature aging.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, in salads, steamed, raw, or as part of a recipe dish. Choose from the rainbow of fruit and vegetable colors to ensure that you’re getting all the antioxidants and nutrients your skin needs. You need essential fats in your diet to keep your skin moist and supple.
The answer is to exclude unhealthy fats (hydrogenated, trans fats, and heat or light damaged fats) from your diet but to keep using healthy fats daily.
A diet rich in flavonoids will help to ensure a healthy and glowing skin. Yogurt is a healthy addition to your diet; just be sure it’s sugar free and natural.
Repair And Treat Sun Damage
UV light causes photo aging in the form of brown spots, coarse skin and wrinkles, whether you have burned your skin or not. When sunlight comes in contact with skin a cascade of damage results (including the stripping of barrier lipids) causing inflammation, production of reactive oxygen molecules that affect healthy cell growth, and stimulation of collagen destructing enzymes.
