Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris
Hey all beauty geeks!!! Today I am going to review Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris. If I tell you this is my first black gel eyeliner, would you believe that??? For somebody who loves eye makeup and still not own a black gel eyeliner, is not very common. The issue is that I don’t have very sturdy hands and the only eyeliner I can apply is a smudged liner. But, there are days when I crave for a precise, winged liner. This is the reason I picked up Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris.
Lets find out how it fared on me.

My take on Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris:
Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris is a very popular and loved gel eye liner in the makeup world. It is touted to be comparable to MAC Fluidlines and Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner. Unfortunately, I can’t make any comparisons as I do not own any of them. Since I was not very sure of how often will I use a gel eyeliner, I never bought an expensive one. However, on hearing the raves about Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris and looking at the price tag, I gave it a go.
Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris is, indeed, an intense black gel eyeliner with a complete matte finish. It has no sheen or shimmers whatsoever. The shade is very true to the color in the jar. It comes out as deep black on eyes as well and not a grey black. Though it can’t be said as the blackest black liner in the world. I love using the gel eyeliner with either my Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush or Anastasia Angled Liner Brush. The neatness of the eyeliner will, obviously, depend on the brush you use to apply the liner with. The gel eyeliner is perfect to get simple as well as winged eyeliners.
Texture: Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris is a creamy and slightly thick eyeliner. It applies evenly and goes on very smoothly. You need not dip your brush again and again in the jar to get an even line. It does not set instantly, but takes about 30-40 seconds to dry. It gives you enough time to work on your liner, but not very much. The eyeliner does not smudge or budge, once it is set. It is also a waterproof liner, but comes out easily with a makeup remover or a cleanser.
Pigmentation: Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris is insanely pigmented. Just one dip in the jar is enough to get a simple line. You really need very less product because of the intense pigmentation.
Staying Power: Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris stays put on my oily eyelids for 8-10 hours, without smudging or fading away. However, I do use a primer underneath it.
Packaging: The gel eyeliner comes in a pretty standard gel eyeliner packaging in a small glass jar with a black screw-on cap. Twist the cap tightly to prevent it from drying in the jar.
