Wanting to get a fair skin seems to the number one beauty demand amongst many women. For example the criteria always tops the list of any matrimonial ads. A strange bias unfortunately we have to live with. Well there’s nothing wrong in wanting to look pretty or beautiful but one should always feel proud of the skin colour they are born with. Taking good care of your skin, eating the right diet, drinking lots of water, avoiding junk, following a proper sleep routine and regular exercising or yoga is enough to make your skin glow from within. Making you look gorgeous and beautiful irrespective of your skin colour.
Nonetheless since we live in a country where getting tanned happens by default, and of course there’s the pollution, the stress factors of daily life that robs you of your natural skin colour. Making your skin appear darker than its natural colour. So we all look for solutions that might help to reduce the skin darkness and making us look fairer. So instead for spending thousands at the salon, or using chemical bleaches that actually burn your skin making it worse why not try out these simple home remedies, that will help you to bleach you skin naturally at home.
Some of the natural bleaching agents are:
It is one of the cheapest natural bleaching agents.Mix 3tbsp of cucumber juice with 1 and ½ tbsp of lime juice, dip a cotton ball into the mix and gently rub it all over your face and neck. Allow the first layer to dry, and then repeat. You can apply upto 2-3 layer. Let it sit for a while then wash it of with luke warm water.
This is one of my favourites for all seasons, but those with oily skin might not be able to use it in the summers.
After you have cleaned your face (try using gram flour instead of chemical face washes and see the magic) just take some plain yoghurt and rub it all over the skin, your face neck and even your sun burnt hands. Let it dry. And then wash it off with luke-warm water. And watch your skin glow. Yoghurt not only acts as instant natural bleach but also helps to moisturise your skin. Do this regularly and you will notice a significant change in your complexion.
Or mix in a teaspoon of yoghurt with a teaspoon of honey and apply the paste all over your face neck. After a while wash it off with luke-warm water.
It works as a natural bleaching agent. Cheap and easily available. The Vitamin C in lemons helps in the growth of new cells. It is also an excellent anti-oxidant that helps to enhance the complexion.
Cut a lemon into halves squeeze out the juice or simply rub a half on the affected skin. Let the juice dry out on your skin and then wash it off. You’ll get a squeaky clean look instantly. Lemon juice not only acts as a natural but also helps to reduce scars and blemishes and also prevents your skin from pimple outbreaks.
A mix of 1tbsp of lemon juice and 1 tbsp of honey can also be applied as a natural bleach. Lemon helps to improve the complexion while honey moisturises and maintains the skin’s PH balance. Just make sure there are no open wounds or broken skin when applying lemon juice. Cause lemon being acidic in nature might cause irritation in that case.
Anti bacterial, enhances the skin colour, heals skin problems, turmeric is one of the oldest and most sought after skin whitening ingredient. For a face mask, mix in 2tbsp of gram flour+ less than 1 tsp of turmeric+ 3tbsp of raw milk. Apply this pack on your face and neck and allow it to get to a semi-dry state. Wash it off using cold water.
Turmeric ubtan is a wonderful way for enhancing your complexion. You can use this everyday before your bath. Mix in a cup of gram flour+ 3-4tbsp of turmeric+raw milk+3tbsp of honey. Apply this all over your body, allow it to dry for 15-20 mins and then rub it gently. If done regularly not only will this improve your complexion but also exfoliate your skin and remove all the unwanted hair from your body. Leaving you with a glowing, fair skin.
Orange peel powder or paste
This is best for the winters when orange is available in plenty. After you are done eating the fruit don’t throw away peels, instead put them through a grinder and make it into a paste. You can store this paste upto 2-3 days in an air-tight container in your fridge. Mix 2-3tsp of this paste with honey and rosewater and apply the all over your face. Leave it to dry 10-15 mins and then wash it off. Just increase the amount if you want to apply it all over the body.
These were some of the homemade natural bleaching packs you can try to get that desired fair complexion.
