Puffy eyes make you look tired and ill, and getting one right before a big day can be a huge issue. Well worry not. There are a few simple home remedies you can use to get rid of puffy eyes.
You need to drink lots of water to keep your body well hydrated, so that there is less chance of water retention. 8-10 glasses of water is the minimum that you should drink everyday. For water also helps to flush out the toxins from your body, which might be causing allergies or other skin problems, resulting in baggy eyes.
Cold spoon method
This is the quickest trick to get rid of baggy eyes in case you are in a hurry to go somewhere. Just take some water in a bowl, refrigerate it. Now take two spoons, dip both in the ice cold water, take one out and place it over the eye, while keeping the other dipped in. now alternate the spoons and keep on oing it till the swelling reduces.
This provides relief to tired eyes, and helps to get rid of puffiness.
Just grate some cucumber, put it on your eyes and lie down for a while. Let it stay on for 10-15mins and then remove it. You can also use cucumber slices instead of grated cucumber if you wish to. Cucumbers soothes the skin by getting rid of inflammation.
Just like cucumber, potato too is a great remedy for getting rid of puffy eyes. In the same way, wash and peel potatoes. Then grate them and place them on your eyes. The starch present in the potato helps to cure inflammation, and soothes the skin.
Boil some water and make tea using tea bags. Once you are done( do not mix sugar or milk into the cup if you are going to use the tea bags) cool the tea bags. Now place this over your eyes and rest for a while. Keep these on your eyes for 15-20 mins an then remove them.
Every one knows that egg whites have amazing skin tightening properties. So for this you will need the egg white of one egg. Just separate the white from the yolk and beat it till it gets to a foamy consistency. Now apply this foam on your eyes. Allow the egg white to dry on your skin( you will feel a pull), and then wash it off.
Take cotton balls and dip them in chilled milk. Now place these milk dipped cotton balls on your eyes. Relax and lie down. Keep these balls on your eyes for 15-20 mins and take them off and wash your face with cold water.
Massaging Vit-E oil under your eyes really help to get rid of baggy eyes. Or you can do another thing. Take a bowl of chilled water and pour a few drops of Vit-E oil into it. Take cotton balls and dip them in to the water bowl. Now place these balls over your eyes. Relax and lie own for a while.
Apart from drinking sufficient amount of water, getting a good night’s sleep is equally important. So make sure you get at least a minimum of 6 hours of sleep every day.
