How To Do Honey Facial
- Cleanse Your Face
Just as we do in any other facial, cleanse your face. Not with any commercial cleanser but use honey to cleanse face. Honey gently removes dirt and impurities without stripping the skin of natural oils, and it balances oily skin and moisturizes dry skin. Take about half a teaspoon of honey on your fingers and warm it between your fingers. Add just a few drops of water if necessary to bring honey to a spreadable consistency. Apply it gently on your face. Rinse off with warm water and pat your face dry.
After the face is cleansed, it is now time to exfoliate and get rid of the dead cells. To use honey as an exfoliant take one tablespoon of honey and mix in it few drops of lemon juice and oatmeal powder. Together these form a great scrub. Gently exfoliate your face & neck, and rinse off after you are done.
- Facial Massage
A good facial massage is the key and doing it solely with honey might look a little difficult. Take about a tablespoon of honey. Apply it to face, start by dabbing some on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and neck. Slowly begin to massage honey into your skin, ensure to take care around the eye area. Massage it for a couple of minutes and then, let the mask sit. Let the mask sit for a minimum of 15 minutes. Now, dry skins take some yogurt and apply it gently on honey to make it of massage able consistency. Oily skins make simply use rose water to spray on the honey. Now, do a good fifteen minute massage to get the circulation going.
- Face Pack
Here comes the final step. There are a variety of honey face packs that you can try depending upon the skin type and issue. For oily skins use tomato pulp, for dry skins use avocado, for normal skins use cucumber, and for aging skins use egg white, with a tablespoon of honey. The only catch here is to warm honey a bit. Warm honey to an extent so that it turns liquid, not severely hot. Allow the mask to sit on face for 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. You can also add a pinch of turmeric to all honey face masks if you are not stepping out in sun for at least 4-5 hours.
Ensure using raw honey for the facial at all steps. Look for unpasteurized or unfiltered on your label before getting honey. I hope you like the idea of honey facial.
