DIY masks for your hair
Dry hairs catch others’ attention more than yours and are quite embarrassing at times. There is nothing much you could do to people gazing at your rough and dry hairs that are not manageable as well. What can be done for such hairs to avoid this embarrassment and provide a healthy life and strength to your hair?
There are many “Do-it-yourself” (DIY) treatments available that can make you wonder about not knowing them earlier. They are all manageable at home and are quite competitive to the expensive hair treatments one could seek from salons.
Honey – Apple Cider Vinegar- Olive Oil
This recipe can help you soften dry hairs. Specially effective for curly hairs that are usually unmanageable, this recipe solves the entanglement to a great extent with the locks flowing perfectly for that curly look. Even for naturally straight hairs and a little fizzy hair, this mask makes the hairs shinier and smoother. All you have to do is to mix 2 tablespoons of honey to 1 part of olive oil and 1 part of cider vinegar and create a mix. Once you apply this mixture for an hour, you may rinse it with your normal shampoo and conditioner. Just ensure that the shampoo and conditioner are as per your hair type.
The results would leave you astonished. You may use this mask once in a week.
Avocado- Olive Oil
Avocados have something naturally silky and buttery in them. It gives the necessary moisture to your hairs and has some good replenishment quality that restores the lost PH balance.
All you need is 1 Teaspoon of Olive Oil and 1 avocado. You need to add the olive oil to mashed avocado and apply the mixture to your hairs. Keep this mask on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with a suitable shampoo and conditioner. Cost-effective and less problematic solution compared to a hefty salon bill!
Yoghurt and Lemon Juice
This is one of the best short cuts to achieve healthy hairs from the roots that speak for themselves. Be it volume or the shine or the texture, you can achieve all three of them together through a regular use. Mix 5 parts of yoghurt to 1 part of lemon juice and apply to your hairs covering all of them. You may wet your hairs before applying it like you do before shampoo. Rinse the pack after 30 minutes and then apply a mild shampoo to wash off the remaining lumps from the pack.
Banana and Yoghurt
Bananas have something specific to them which make your hairs healthy and stronger apart from the natural shine that they provide. Mix 2 bananas (or less depending on your hair length) to 2 tablespoon of yoghurt. You may also add a little honey (around half a tablespoon) to it. Make a paste and apply to your hairs and then leave it for half an hour. Rinse it with your regular shampoo and conditioner and see the difference! You may repeat this treatment twice in another 3 days.
Egg and Yoghurt
The most classic recipe or hair mask is the use of eggs to your hairs. Mixing it with yoghurt makes it a hit as it has all the qualities that you would seek from a salon’s chemicals. With the natural proteins from the eggs and the retention quality of the yoghurt, one can easily see the difference after you shampoo the mixture off your hair.
