5 Tips For Happy Feet In Winters
Hey pretty ladies! I am sure you all must be enjoying the cool pleasant weather. The chilly weather is on its way & so will be the dry, patchy & cracked skin. We tend to take great care of our face & hands during the winter season but ignore our feet. In fact, they are in contact with the ground the most. So they need proper care too. Let us take a look at some of the ways you can keep you feet healthy & happy this winter.
Keep Your Toe Nails & Feet Clean:
Toe nails attract a lot of dirt. Keep your nails clean and short. Remove dirt from nails and trim them regularly. You may also clean your toe nails using a soft angular brush. Also, keep your feet clean by simply washing them with soap & water while taking a bath.
Exfoliate! During winters, your feet develop dry & rough patches. Use a foot scrub or pumice stone to remove the dead cells from your feet. This helps in eliminating the dry skin thereby revitalizing the feet and revealing new skin. You may also try preparing some foot scrubs at home by using white or brown sugar.
Keep Them Moisturized:
It is extremely important to keep your feet properly moisturized especially during winters. Your feet are now more prone to dryness & cracked heels. If not taken care of, these can become painful as well. Take a foot cream & apply it regularly after scrubbing. If you cannot get hold of a foot cream, then apply any regular winter moisturizer. This will keep your feet hydrated & well moisturized. You can also use specific creams if you have cracked heels.
Mini Pedicure At Home:
You do not always need to go to a parlor for a pedicure. Simply take warm water in a tub & add some crystal salt. Salt works as a cleansing agent. Dip your feet in the tub for at least 15 minutes. You may also mix peppermint oil, olive oil & baking soda in place of salt. These remedies are really effective to make your feet smooth and clean. They help in getting rid of dry skin & provide a soothing effect. Afterwards, dry you skin and apply a nourishing moisturizer.
Other Beauty Tips
Keep your feet dry at all times:
Damp feet which contain moisture invite unwanted bacteria.
Wear shoes, boots, flat bellies or other footwear that are comfortable & fit properly. This allows the toes some air to wiggle comfortably. Proper shoes provide warmth and protection to your feet. Wearing narrow shoes can cause ingrown toenails, corns and calluses.
Applying Vaseline or a thick cream to nourish skin and get rid of flaky dry skin.
Exercise your feet for blood circulation. Perform exercises like ankle rolls and flex movements on a daily basis.
This will pump blood into the area & help the feet stay healthy.
Give yourself a pampering foot massage to soothe & relax your feet.
