How To Cleanse Face Effectively
“Beauty is only skin deep”, the proverb means that true beauty lies within. But when talking about beauty, I just can’t miss “makeup and beauty” and the proverb goes here as well. Unless our skin is beautiful from within, no other things can make you look pretty.
The skin on our face is extremely delicate and it’s also the first thing people see when they look at us. Pollution, dirt, grime that your skin have accumulated throughout the day and makeup, you need to wash them off really well every night before going to bed.
So here is the proper way cleansing your face.
Begin your cleansing routine by washing your hands. You don’t want to transfer all the dirt and germs from your hands to your face.
Remove every traces of makeup with a makeup remover. This is the basic and most important step. Never go to bed with your makeup on. You might be thinking that, “Ahh… I am going to clean my face with face wash, why do I need to use makeup remover?” But to let you know, the cleanser might not take away the ‘waterproof’ and long staying makeup we love. So using a makeup remover, either liquid on a cotton ball or a wipe, is the best way to get rid of it all.
Just wash your face with lukewarm water. Don’t use very hot water. Prolonged exposure to hot water washes away the natural oils our skin excretes which help in keeping skin soft and naturally moisturized. You can just steam your face for about 5 minutes. It will open pores.
Choose the right facial cleanser. Choose the one that suits your skin type. Like if you have normal to dry skin then use a cream based facial cleanser and if you have combination or oil skin then go for a gel based facial cleanser. Use a facial wash cloth or muslin cloth to clean your face. The cloth acts as a light exfoliant and will help slough off dead skin cells and deeply clean your skin. If you want you can use mild scrubs to remove the deal cells. But don’t use the cloth and scrub together. Avoid too much exfoliation. Excessive use of cleansers can also make skin dry by removing the natural oils. So pay attention.
Wash off. Using water that is slightly cooler than lukewarm, splash your face until the cleanser is removed. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Be gently on the eye areas. Remember, you have to pat only, not to wipe or rub, as this can also tear and irritate your delicate skin.
Tone and moisturize. Toning is essential to maintain the pH balance and moisture is to simply and ‘essentially’ moisturize your skin.
We need to keep our skin beautiful and healthy by washing it properly every night. So following these simple 5 steps will give you healthy, flawless skin. Happy cleansing!
