How To Use Orange Peel For Skincare
Oranges have always been a favorite fruit amongst masses. But we often do not realize that it is a completely useful fruit. Not only its pulp or juice or fiber or Vitamin C is useful but its peel is all the more useful and is richer in Vitamin C than the entire fruit itself! The peel is so rich in anti-oxidants that it gives a clear and bright skin in very less time.
The peel is also very good for acne and oily skin. The peel can be best used in powdered form. I am sharing a few packs you could try this season for all your skin care needs. You just need to dry the peel and powder it Store it for 6 months and use it with other ingredients to form different packs and masks as mentioned below.
As a Face Pack
Combined with Yoghurt
You may combine orange peel with yoghurt and use as a face pack. It is a rejuvenating pack that will give you instant shine and glow. For this you need 1 tablespoon of sun dried peel and 2 tablespoon of yoghurt. Mix them well and apply on your face for 20 minutes. Wash it off and pat dry your face. Do not forget to moisturize.
Combined with Multani mitti or Fuller Earth
If you have an oily skin, this one is for you. Combine 1 tablespoon of orange peel powder to 1 tablespoon of multani mitti. Now add rose water to it and make a paste. Apply it on your skin – face and neck may be and let it dry. Do not let it dry completely; rinse it as and when it is semi-dried. This is to ensure that the black heads and white heads are also out with the pack.
Combined with Lime, Sandalwood powder and fuller earth powder
Add 22 tablespoon of orange peel powder to 1 tablespoon each of sandalwood powder and fuller earth powder. Add few drops of lime juice to this mixture and form a paste. This face pack is good to remove the tan. Let it on your face for 30 minutes and then rinse off. You may add more of lime juice in case you find you have more acne on your skin. This pack is suited to oily skin as well.
I hope you find this post useful. Do try these packs and let the season be as ruthless as it can as you can now brave it at home.
As a Face Wash
Mixing the orange peel with turmeric and honey gives you a natural face wash which is suited to oily and dry skins. People with severe acne prone skins may choose to avoid it. In case you still use it make sure to use an acne face pack also to ensure there is no side effect.
As an Exfoliator
You may use the orange peel powder as an exfoliator as well. Just mix 1 tablespoon of orange powder with 1 tablespoon of sandalwood powder, which is easily available and 1 tablespoon of walnut powder. Now to this mixture, add 2-3 drops of lemon juice and 2 tablespoon of rose water. Apply the resultant paste to your face. Keep it for 5-6 minutes then rinse. You should use it regularly to get rid of blackheads and dead skin.
