Hi, Gorgeous ladies!
Summer is round the corner and it’s time to get our hands on our favourite ‘Matte lipsticks‘. For a lipstick fanatic, what could be more exciting than a fabulous looking and long- lasting lipstick? Being a lipstick lover, I have tried different kinds of formulations of lipsticks and I discovered my love for ‘creamy-matte ‘ as I find full matte lipsticks chalky, patchy in application.
Here, I have shared 15 matte lipsticks swatches that make you drool-
Price: INR 1450 for 3gm.
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say red lips? If we talk about red matte lipsticks most of us state our favourite lipstick ‘Ruby woo’ in no time. Although, I am not talking about cult ‘Ruby woo’ but another bang on shade which is quite popular among MAC lovers is – VIVA glam 1.
Viva Glam 1 is a classic dark needed for those perfect statement lips. Perfect for day or night. It suits most skin tones but girls with very yellow undertone may prefer something along the lines of MAC Ruby Woo.
Price: $7.49 for 6ml.
The Shade Fandango Purple is a purple shade with very pretty pink undertones. The shade is pretty enough to colour great on all skin tones. It is creamy in texture and easily spreads on lips, but within few seconds it sets to a completely matte finish. The matte texture is a bit drying. The gloss sets like a matte lipstick not like any gloss actually.
Matte Me is a matte finish liquid lipstick that glides on in one smooth application, with no need for a second coat. Fandango Purple is a bright fuchsia purple, a team with winged eyeliner using Flick It for a dazzling look.

We all are often on a lookout for a gorgeous daily wear shade which not only compliments our skin tone but also brightens the face without looking OTT. It has weightlessness of the formula that will provide you with all-day comfort – wear lip makeup and a flawless look.
008 Rustic is a very beautiful orange toned brick shade which will flatter all Indian skin tones. The pigmentation is fabulous, just a single swipe and it goes opaque on my lips. It can be worn daily and can also be worn at the workplace. The texture and finish of this are quite unique and not exactly like that of a stain. It has a lip crème kind of texture and later sets to an absolute matte finish. It sets to a powder matte finish and leaves no strong stain behind.

The heroine is boldest of bold shade which is not for faint hearted people for sure. I myself am a fan of purple shade lipsticks. It adds drama to your look and can be worn with minimal makeup look. I love experimenting with my looks hence added it to my vanity. However ‘Heroine’ is medium purple with warm undertones. People can easily wear red and pink of their choices but this shade is little difficult to pull off.
The MAC Matte Lipsticks are definitely not for people with extremely dry lips. Thus proper exfoliation and moisturisation of lips are suggested before applying the lipstick.
Price: INR 475 for 4.2 gm.
The shade Orange Vif is a deep orange shade which is not too tangy. The shade has slight red undertones which are most evident under artificial light. Under normal daylight, it is a prefect deep orange shade. You can see how red toned it looks in the picture below with camera flash!
These lipsticks feature the glamorous properties of a matte lipstick with a velvety finish which will make you fall in love. This amazing lipstick has an intense colour that is creamy, soft and glides smoothly on application simply moisturising and incredibly wearable yet absolutely matte.

I love using magenta pink shades during special occasions and Loreal Infallible 138 Forever Fuchsia has become a star among my fuchsia lipsticks. This lipstick is richly pigmented, only one swipe and the colour pay off is awesome.
This is surely one of the most beautiful fuchsia lipstick shade that I have come across. A bright magenta pink to suit all Indian skin toned beauties. Just put it on and you will be the centre of attraction for sure.

This shade Orange Blossom is somewhat a tangy orange color but is not very bright and cool toned. The finish of this lip shade is pure matte which makes it look even more deep orange.
The texture of this lipstick is a little drying as it is a pure matte shade but I liked the shade really much so a lip balm beneath this lipstick won’t hurt. The lip shade is highly pigmented and in a single swipe it just lightens up your face and suddenly your face looks fresh. It is that kind of shade when you wish to uplift your sense, just put this on and step out!
The staying power of this shade is between 5-6 hours easily and will survive light snacks and drinks.

Extremely soft & creamy texture gives a velvety matte finish. Hydrating lightweight formula with rich pigments does not dry out lips. Super long wear, waterproof.
The shade Fiery Red is mainly a cool toned red shade which is not too bright. The shade definitely looks great when applied and it is going to suit all the skin tones fairly well! The lip pencil has a very soft and non-smudging matte finish. It glides super easily on the lips and tends to come out really pigmented and opaque is a single swipe! Cheers to Long lasting red lips!

This lipstick is from the matte category by NYX. The lipstick glides on like a creamy lipstick, very easy on lips without any tugging or pulling and then settles to a matte finish. NYX-Albama is a gorgeous warm toned red with very obvious brown undertones. The shade is really gorgeous and will suit all dark, medium and fair skin tones.
It has an amazing texture, smooth in application and a perfect matte finish to flaunt through the day. It is insanely pigmented and just one swipe gives all the colour required to get opaque coverage.
Price: INR 900 for 6.5 ml.
The weightlessness of the formula will provide you with all-day comfort – wear lip makeup and a flawless look. The texture & finish of this is quite unique and not exactly like that of a stain. It has a lip crème kind of texture and later sets to an absolute matte finish. It sets to a powder matte finish and leaves no strong stain behind.
006 Mauve Dusk is a very beautiful muted mauve-wine shade which will flatter all Indian skin tones. The pigmentation is fabulous, just a single swipe and it goes opaque on my lips. It is one of its own kinds of mauve shade which is not very vampy and can be easily carried without many efforts.

The bullet may not appear that orangish but the swatches will make it clear that the lipstick leans to Orange, which makes it perfect for Day wear too. If you love Reds for Day outs too that is. It looks like a burnt orange without a lip pencil and red with a red lip pencil.
My personal favourite finish for Red lipsticks is Matte and this lipstick fills the bill perfectly. This is a matte finish MAC lipstick. Not overly matte that you may feel your lips tearing apart, just perfect(Madhuri’s style in JhalakDikhlaJa)
Price: INR 650 for 3.5g
The shade Pink Fantasy is mainly a hot pink shade with very slight berry undertones when applied on the lips and it is not a true fuchsia pink! The shade goes opaque in 2-3 swipes and instantly brightens the face with the deep hue!
The texture of these lip pout lip tints, as the name implies is quite matte and will accentuate dry lips if they are not primed well or exfoliated before applying the lip tint.
Price: USD 2.99 for 3.3 gm.
As the name says, it is indeed a screaming spotlight red. A very true red, not too warm and not cool either. I love how it brightens up my face and gives me an instantly glamorous look. When you wear this shade, you don’t really have to think about rest of the makeup. The formula is excellent too because it’s matte without being too drying. I have very dry lips, and dessert like matte lipsticks scare me. But I love the texture of this one.
It is mindblowing-ly long-lasting and survives snacks and drinks. It claims to stay for 4 hours, but I wore it for 7hours at a stretch. Just amazing for USD 2.99 only!
Price: INR 845 for 6 gm.
It is a creamy pink-brown when you apply it fresh on your lips. The colour is very beautiful as you can see in the swatch and on the lips. The thing about this one is that it deepens with time.
the texture is really really smooth and feathery light on the lips. It does not give you that squeaky dry feeling on the lips and still remains on its claims of being extreme wear, transfer proof lipsticks. The lipstick turns matte after around 30-60 seconds and it remains the same throughout after that. It is transfer proof; I had meals, I had water but it didn’t transfer on anything.

MAC RIRI Woo is described as matte cool red and has a retro matte finish. As the description says, it is cool toned blue based medium to dark red shade and very teeny tiny bit different from Ruby Woo from where the inspiration comes.
As it is retro matte, you can expect a little bit of tugging and dryness on lips, not the best finish for chapped lips. It doesn’t glide very easily on my lips and also not unevenly. The colour is gorgeously pigmented but due to a dry texture, I do need to layer it for even finish.
That’s all folks! Hope you liked my post. Which is your favourite among these lipsticks?
