Hello, skin care fanatics!
Kama Ayurveda is a brand that has secured its place in the Ayurvedic skin and hair care world. They have a line of chemical free products that are extremely good both for your skin and hair. On Anamika Mam’s birthday, her husband gifted her a Kama Ayurveda gift basket and this Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Face Cream that I am reviewing now is one of the contents. So if you are interested to know more about the product, keep on scrolling.
What the brand claims about the product: Made with a blend of pure ingredients, this formula is prescribed in the ancient Ayurvedic text of Ashtanga Hrudayam as the ideal skin treatment of herbs processed in pure Coconut Milk and Sesame Oil. Costus and Cardamom are known for their Varneekarana properties – the ability to enhance skin texture. Costus is especially known for its soothing effect on the skin. Also, contains Aloe Vera which has antiseptic properties, prevents acne, blemishes, fine lines and gives adequate sun protection. Olive Oil derived extracts enable high skin absorption without stickiness or heaviness. Pure essential oils of Rose and Jasmine purify and nurture for a naturally healthy looking skin.
• Softens and smoothes
• Minimises signs of ageing
• Nourishes without greasiness
How to use the product: Daily massage a small amount onto cleansed skin with upward strokes.
Price: 1125 INR for 50 gms
Ingredients: The main ingredients are: Coconut Oil, Cardamom, Crepe Ginger and Sesame. Detailed ingredient list below.
Packaging: The Eladi Hydrating Ayurvedic Cream comes in a small tub packaging with an outer carton. A second layer of covering is also there to secure the purity of the product. The tub is really cute and all essential information is written on it. Due to the small size, it is haulable. I really don’t prefer tub packagings for hygiene reasons but you can use the product upto the last drop (expensive product goals!). Overll, the packaging is really Kama Ayurveda kind and serves the purpose really well.
Texture: The texture of the cream is really soft and blends into the skin like magic. This is a super oily cream and so it will make your skin greasy.
Fragrance: The cream has a soothing rose and jasmine mixed fragrance as it contains Rose and Jasmine Oil in it.
Colour: The colour of the cream is pure white (for all people who are obsessed with colours)
What I feel about the product: The Eladi Ayurvedic Hydrating Cream by Kama Ayurveda is an oily and very heavy cream that is absolutely not for summers. If you have very dry skin, you can consider twice but other skin types, beware! This is intensely nourishing, something which you will love in winters. The texture is really soft with an intensely sweet fragrance. The cream blends really well and gets absorbed but as it has no SPF, it is not ideal for daytime. Well, I am not that impressed given the fact that it is such an expensive cream, we expected a lot more.
What I like about the product:
- Purely herbal with no added chemicals
- Cruelty free
- Contains the goodness of
- Fragrance is really soothing
- Great for winters
- Good for people with really dry skin
- Gives intense moisturisation and nourishment to the skin
What I dislike about the product:
- Comes in a tub packaging
- Too oily to be used in summers
- Causes breakouts on my combination to oily skin
- Not for oily or combination skin
Recommendation: This can be an awesome winter nourishing cream but definitely not for summers. So you can try this cream in winters.
