Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lip Color in Bubble Pink – Review & Swatch
Hello pretties! How are you all doing? Are you enjoying the rains? The monsoons are in full swing these days and sometimes it gets so gloomy that even my trusty cup of garam chai cannot banish the dull grey atmosphere. At these times, one needs a bright, peppy pick me up and what better than a bright pink, brand new lippie!
Lakmé has introduced these Lip crayons in collaboration with quirky designer Masaba Gupta. I am reviewing the shade ‘Bubble Pink‘ today. For more shades and swatches, you can check out my review which I had posted a few days ago.

The first thing that catches my eye is the adorable packaging. It’s bright blue in colour with a cute print of balloons and fluffy clouds on it. The lip crayons are retractable and fuss-free to use. I’m so glad there are no sharpeners involved here because I hate seeing precious lippies go to waste when sharpened! The smell, by the way, is pure candy! Lakme has stuck to the candy theme in all aspects of this collection!
Doesn’t the colour remind you of the bubble gums that we were so crazy about during our childhood? The shade is named ‘Bubble Pink’ precisely for that reason. It is a bright, blue-based pink which will look terrific on lighter skin but on me it washes out a bit. It reminds me of MAC Candy Yum Yum, but a slightly more muted version of it. It is quite pigmented and 2 swipes will give you a completely opaque colour.

Performance & Application:
It glides semi-comfortably on the lip when swiped and gives a matte finish. It is not completely smooth like a satin lipstick when you apply it, but it is a matte so some amount of tugging is expected. It does not detract from the comfort of the applying the lip crayon, though.
On the whole it is a pretty shade, easy to use and not unduly heavy on the pocket . College going lovelies are more likely to find this lippie alluring but even if you aren’t one, don’t hesitate to pick it up if you don’t have a similar shade and blue based pink goes well on you!
