Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lip Color in Cherry Bite – Review & Swatches
Hello dearies! Time for a lovely lippie post again! This time it’s the Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Matte Masaba Lip Color in ‘Cherry Bite’. This belongs to the recently released collection by designer Masaba Gupta. The shade names and colours are all based on candies and they totally send me flying back in time to my childhood! Do check out the other shades as well. I have swatched them in the post linked here.
What the brand says:
LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION!
An exclusive collection of vibrant + matte lip crayons by Masaba.
10 vivid and super versatile shades.
Price: 750 for 3.7gm
The packaging has been designed by Masaba Gupta and the lovely red print has her signature quirky style (I can spot a Mango Bite-type print on this!). This is a retractable lip crayon with a cap so you don’t have to worry about sharpening it. So no wastage at all, you get the whole 3.7 gms ☺ The lippies smell sweet and I’m sure you will love the lovely fragrance.
Remember the cherries that used to be on cakes and pastries? This shade colour is exactly that – a matte red with a strong magenta undertone. You might see more red or more magenta depending on the light. It is a very sophisticated and wearable red because of precisely this. It brightens up your entire look and you could wear this lippie solely by itself and look polished and put-together. It is not an uncommon shade by any means but is a versatile workhorse of a shade. A white blouse, a chic and sleek ponytail and this lippie – You’re set!
Performance & Application:
It takes about 2 swipes for this colour to show up and look opaque. Application is simple and easy thanks to it being a crayon. It is smooth to apply but not extremely so. It doesn’t highlight lip flakes or settle into lines. Two swipes and you’re good to go. It’s pretty long wearing and does not flake off at the first sight of a meal.
This lippie is not something that cannot be found in other ranges. If you search hard enough, you can easily find dupes for it. The fun-filled packaging is what sets these lip crayons apart. For the price though, it is a lovely shade and performs as expected.
