Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Ivory Cream Review
Today, I am here with yet another review from my favorite 9 to 5 range of products from Lakme. I have most shades from the matte and crease-less creme range. The latest Primer + Matte range offers this powder foundation and I picked this last month only after my Lakme 9 to 5 Flawless Matte Complexion Compact fell down and broke into pieces!
About Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Ivory Cream
Say hello to the all new foundation by Lakmé that now comes in a compact format. Conveniently chic!
This foundation delivers even coverage that is buildable by nature. It conceals fine lines and effortlessly spreads over your skin. It’s a foundation that has an in-built primer and comes in a powder format. Available in 6 shades, it’s ideal for women with oily skin with it’s long lasting matte finish.
- Step 1: Take some compact on a powder puff. Shake the puff to remove any excess powder.
- Step 2: Wipe your face with the compact puff in long, even strokes. The strokes should move from the inside, to the outside.
- Step 3: Wet it if you want to use it like a foundation base.
- Step 4: Even apply it all over your face. Don’t forget your neck area.
Price– INR 600 for 9g
Shelf Life– 30months from date of mfg.
Packaging– The powder foundation comes in a rose gold cardboard box which has all the details like price, shade manufacturing date etc mentioned on it.
The compact has a really pretty rose-gold shiny surface which looks very classy. Inside there is a round mirror and holds a delicate pan of powder foundation. Just beneath the pan, there is yet another lid which has the sponge applicator with minute holes at the base so as to keep the sponge in contact with air for ventilation and also dusting off excess powder.
At the back of the compact, details about the shade and expiry are mentioned. The packaging is a bit delicate and it might break the actual foundation if it accidentally falls.
My Experience with Lakme 9 To 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Ivory Cream
Shade– I picked the shade Ivory Cream as it was the closest to my fair skin tone. It doesn’t give any whitish cast at all. It just gives a finished look after applying the foundation.
Texture– The texture of this powder foundation is super soft, smooth & silky on the skin. It is very light weight and you won’t feel anything applied even if you are wearing a heavy coverage foundation beneath.
It sets to a matte finish and gives a thin veil to the skin without hiding the soft radiance of your skin.
Coverage– The powder foundation has a medium coverage and it will even out the skin tone although it will not conceal spots completely. For that you need to use a good concealer first and layer it with this powder foundation!
Staying Power– The powder foundation stays in place for a good 4+ hours and when applied alone will last for around 2+ hours during winters. During summers, you might need a touch-up after 2 hours due to high humidity!
The powder foundation has primer based formulation however it feels a little drying if applied without moisturizing the skin. The area near the nose and around the mouth tend to feel a little dry if you skipped your moisturizer. Interestingly this powder foundation can be use dry and wet both ways but I prefer using it dry only.
Overall, this is really a good compact and on days when you are in a hurry just dab a little powder and you are good to go!
