Mild exfoliators

You should never say no to exfoliation, even in winters. But always ensure to use mild exfoliators, any abrasive exfoliation can do more damage than any good. If you resort to natural exfoliators, that’s even better. I love using a blend of honey, curd, and gram flour. The paste of these exfoliates my skin really well and also provides the much needed moisturization.

Rip off the Lip of the dead skin


Why keep exfoliation limited to body, when your lips too need regular exfoliation. But you got to be super gentle with this. I know people are into habit of rubbing wet towel against lips to remove dead skin, and they consider it great; however it really isn’t the best thing to do.
Instead try a blend of sugar and olive oil, or any moisturizing oil to gently exfoliate your lips. If you are on a travel and cannot manage to grab sugar and oil, all you need is a chap stick and the packed fine sugar that you receive with coffee and tea. Apply generous amount of lip balm to your lips and proceed with sugar exfoliation, this helps amazingly.

Silk it with milk

This is not for the first time that you are coming across milk to reveal a silken soft skin. Apply raw milk to your face and dry patches of your skin, forbid it on your skin for ten minutes and wash with cool water. Do not use warm or hot water to clean it; else it won’t benefit you in any way.

Say no to hot showers

We absolutely love hot showers during winters, but the temporary luxury to long time damage is how we can understand the effects of hot showers. Hot showers are for sure soothing, but they at the same time rip off your skin of the natural oils, thus leaving your skin even drier. Also try limiting your shower time to 10minutes to 15 minutes. Long showers are of no help.

 Moisturize it right

Having said no to hot showers, I did not tell you people to jump into chilled water shower. Of course it is beneficial that way, but warm shower should be fine. Warm showers open your skin pores and that is the best time to moisturize your body and face.
Apply moisturizer right after shower or washing your face, as when the pores are open the moisturizer seeps into your skin, thereby ensuring deep moisturization.
If you plan on applying makeup, please wait for 5-10 minutes post moisturizing to apply any makeup.

Oil it before shower


We all have always followed the post shower moisturizing routine. Let’s go back to childhood days, do you people recall how our moms used to oil and massage our bodies before bathing us. If you could not recall it, you can see the same being done to small kids around us.
