We have always been asked to put on the sunscreen even if we stay at home or outside. We do not have to run away from the sun as one needs sun for the energy. It is from the sun that we get the essential Vitamin D which helps in many functions of our body. All we have to do is to go out and wear light clothing so that they do not absorb and attract the sun strong rays.

HARMFUL INGREDIENTS OF SUNSCREEN

Three Sunscreen ingredients which are harmful are as follows:-

1)  – Benzophenone (benzophenone-3), homosalate, and octy-methoxycinnamate (octinoxate) –

The skin absorbs the benzophenone which can remain in the body for several days. It produces free radicals in the body. When used as directed, possible side effects of sunscreens which contain Benzophenone include skin redness and irritation.

2) – Triethanolamine –

Many sunscreen contains triethanolamine  which can cause the formation of cancer causing nitrosamines. This product is often not disclosed in the labels.

3) Padimate-O and Parsol 1789 (2-ethylhexyl-4-dimethylaminobenzoic acid and avobenzone):

These two chemicals have the potential to damage DNA when illuminated with sunlight. On the skin’s surface, these chemicals do protect from UV damage; however, once absorbed into the skin, the same chemicals can prove destructive

I am quite enjoying using it; great for summers/spring. For winters its not moisturizing enough.
