The festival of lights Diwali is round the corner. I am sure all the ladies must have finalized their outfits for the occasion. But a Diwali look is never complete without a perfect hairstyle. It not only completes your overall look but makes you appear pretty. Although letting down your tresses is always a good option, but let us take a look at the different hairstyles to make your hair even more gorgeous this ethnic season.
The Traditional Bun-
This is an elegant hairstyle to sport in this festive season. It gives a subtle yet classy & a tidy look & accentuates your forehead. It gathers the hair in a neat bunch & can be beautified with flowers or a gajra. A mangtikka can also be worn if required. In order to make it more stylish, a puffed look can be created as well. This look has been donned by Deepika Padukone. Kareena Kapoor Khan was also seen in this hairstyle at her sangeet ceremony. In order to add more flair to this hairstyle, the bun can be partitioned sideways like Sonam Kapoor in the movie ‘Aisha’.
The Chignon bun takes the regular bun to the next level. It gives a very feminine & a chic look & can be carried off with almost any attire. The word “chignon†has a French origin and translates to “at the napeâ€. The hair is pinned into a knot at the back of the head. But there are several variations which can be carried off such as a messy chignon, braided chignon, curled up chignon, side swept chignon, among others. This look has been sported by Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma & Alia Bhatt.
Side fishtail braid-
This is another hairdo which is gaining a lot of popularity these days. It can be easily carried off with lehengas & sarees. It is extremely stylish & elegant. It can be either carried off in a sleek look wherein all the hair are tied neatly in a single braid or in a ruffled look where the hair splatter out of the braid & some loose hair are left on the sides. Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone & Nargis Fakhri have been spotted in this hairdo.
A simple ponytail never goes out of style. It is not just meant for casual attire but can be teamed up for a nice ethnic look. Ladies with medium or long locks can definitely try this out. It pulls back the hair in a simple yet graceful way & is easy to manage. A puff can be added to accentuate the forehead & it can be accessorized with a fancy clip or a band. This style has been seen on Nargis Fakhri, Dia Mirza & Kajol.
Half Braided Hairstyle-
This hairdo is a classic one & is a perfect option to go with ethnic wear. It can be done in two ways. The hair can be braided at the center with a center partition & the rest can be left loose. Or, the loose hair can be tied up into a ponytail. This can be used by ladies having curly hair as well. This look has been seen on Sonakshi Sinha, Kareena Kapoor Khan & Alia Bhatt recently.
