The moment I came to  know about my pregnancy, I stopped using all the products which I was trying it out. With all the pregnancy  related excitement, there are many challenges too which come in front of a women and one of them is the pregnancy skincare. All those hormones just take a “U” turn and start dancing around. I was surprised to see my oily skin getting drier and my hair getting  thicker and better. It’s quite confusing and scary when it comes to finding products which won’t affect yours as well as baby’s skin. Moreover, I didn’t find many product recommendations on the net either. Most websites had mentioned product ingredients which should be avoided but no product recommendations specifically.
One must be careful while using skin care products at this time because some skin care products are absorbed into the body when applied to skin. In fact some popular companies should come out with a pregnancy skin care range too .I am sure in India and abroad it will be quite a hit.
I am listing few of the products which I used and thankfully my skin or my baby skin has been not affected by it.
This lush pack contains eggs, ground turmeric , ground cardamom with ginger oil and I used it for dual purpose of cleansing and scrubbing. I used the pack three to four times a week and the fragrance of the product was not too pungent .

As my skin was getting  drier day by day, I used this moisturiser and it suited me perfectly. Generally in pregnancy, if you have oily skin it turns dry while a dry skin gets into the oily mode. So if you are in the ‘Oily to Dry’ mode, then this moisturiser will work for you in spring and summers. It might be still a little greasy in summers for you.
I used VLCC night cream for a while but I wasn’t too impressed with it. I asked the SA there if it is suitable during pregnancy and on her recommendation I used it.I think its kind of OK night cream but later on I switched to Argan oil and it worked great even during summer season.
I tried few toners after going through ingredients but always switched to Patanjali rose water only as I found it to be the safest. I even tried Clinique Clarifying Lotion Clarifinate 2 and found that too quite strong for my skin.

I would also like to mention this product which helped me in sever headache in my first trimester. Those who experienced or are experiencing it during their pregnancy must be knowing how horrible the headache is which lasts for several hours.
I have used this massage bar during my head ache or when my back was paining. It helps in relieving the pain and in headache the clove kind of relaxes me. If you can ask some one to give you a back massage with it during the muscle pain, it will definitely help. Only thing is, it will relieve you from the every day light pain  and you won’t have to pop up the medicines too.
With this I was too afraid of using sunscreen during my pregnancy because of all the chemical ingredients which they have. Also, if you have grey hair then you can try Lush Heena.
Above are few of the products which I used during my pregnancy and as per me they were quite safe. Although it’s important to discuss with your doctor before deciding upon a product while you are pregnant.
Do let me know what products you are using or used while you were pregnant and whether they turned out safe for you.
and to those who are in their first trimester and reading this ..Enjoy the good time coming ahead and that’s the second trimester 🙂
