5 Simple Tips To Get Longer Hair

Here are some simple points that you should keep in mind if you want long hair-

Pamper Your Hair

Your hair can never get enough pampering. If you think that regular washing and conditioning is enough, think again. It is really important to choose a shampoo that suits your hair-type. If you have dry hair, get a moisturizing shampoo but such shampoos can be heavy for oily hair. Girls with oily hair should buy a shampoo that is mild and great at cleansing. Mild shampoos are more important for oily hair as they need more washes compared to the dry kind.

The correct way to shampoo is also important. Don’t pour shampoo on hair straight out of the bottle. Take a little amount on your palm, add a few drops of water, rub a little and then use it on hair. More shampoo does not mean better cleansing, it only means more chemicals on hair.

Apply shampoo in massaging motion but don’t leave it in your hair for long. Lather indicates that shampoo has done its work so wash it off immediately.
Apart from regular conditioning, go for deep-conditioning also.

Cuts and Intervals

Do not stop getting a haircut altogether. Set realistic goals and go for regular trims. Split ends make hair weak and prone to breakage. You can increase the time between trims but getting rid of split ends is required to spurt your hair-growth. Get only the ends trimmed.

Your hairstylist is the best person to consult so ask her about your hair requirements. A good hairdresser will understand your needs and will guide you accordingly.

Eat your way to long hair

Include foods that are high in protein. Foods like eggs and meat are very good for hair. You have more options in nuts, cheese and lentils. These foods will not only make your hair grow faster but also stronger and shinier.

Also include good fats in your diet. These are found in fish, olives, avocado and sesame seeds etc.

Binge on Vitamins

Besides eating healthy and balanced, give your hair something extra by including hair-supplements. Biotin is easily available in medical stores and it makes your hair strands thicker. Vitamin B12 is another very important nutrient for hair. Non-vegetarians get it through their diet but vegetarians should take B12 supplements as it stimulates hair growth. Folic Acid renews cells and also helps in hair growth.

It is better to buy a supplement that has all of these if you can get one. One such product has been reviewed here.

Use Protection

Protect your hair from ill effects of styling tools by using heat-protectant products. Also don’t pull your hair back too tightly. Always keep them a little loose to avoid tension on roots. Tightly pulled hair are highly prone to breakage.
