Hello beauty freaks! π
Holi preparations up? Craving for the ambrosial gujiyas? I am already salivating π I donΓ’β¬β’t play holi so devouring in delicious dishes is how I spend the festive day π My mom is in full swing preparing various sweets and dishes all in the name of the festival, just like many of you must be busy doing these days π
Among the festivity, I found my mom complaining about her dry hands even after the end of chill filled season. We all are welcoming the warmth that has dawned into the air, marking the beginning of summers with rather warm afternoons, giving a way to pack and store our woollens and embrace those light cotton dresses. Bliss, no? Yes, a pure bliss but these are the days when we forget about maintaining our moisturizing routine while we are busy adoring the summer warmth. Winters are ending but does that imply moisture laden days are here? Definitely not! Moisturizing your hands and feet is as essential as taking care of your skin or making up for that best look.
.
In the light of my momΓ’β¬β’s complaint, I am here to give you some tips on how to keep your hands supple and soft, the same ones I asked my mom to follow regularly. LetΓ’β¬β’s get started π
MOISTURISE WELL
As I said moisturising should be a strict regime to be followed religiously. No matter what season it is, taking care of your hands is mandatory, especially women you indulge in household chores often. Use a rich hand repair cream, a thick moisturiser, or spread petroleum jelly on your hands at night, to keep them soft and supple. Wear cotton gloves and leave overnight. This will replenish the moisture that our skin loses in winter.
.
HYDRATION IS THE KEY
Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day which helps to keep your skin hydrated from inside. Also, have plenty of fresh fruit juices such as carrot, orange and beetroot juice.
COVER UP
This is specially for you ladies who are in household work more. When doing household chores, make sure you wear gloves. Soaps and harsh chemicals will rip your skin off its natural moisture, leading to premature wrinkles and dry patches.
MASSAGE WELL
A good massage will improve blood circulation and also help get rid of dead skin cells. Pamper yourself with hot oil massages. Also, add a few drops of olive oil or almond oil in the last two mugs of your bath water or massage your hands feet well and soak them in hot water for some time and then pat dry to have them soft and supple. It will also leave your skin soft and glowing.
.
TWO MINUTE MAGIC SCRUB
Now, this is the highlight of the article and the simplest of exercise you can do multiple times a day for the softest of hands and feet and for that younger looking skin π Take about 1-2 tablespoons of sugar into one hand and mix the same amount of almond oil or olive oil ( I prefer olive oil). Rub the mixture in between your palms, let it warm and spread it over your hands. In gentle circular movements, scrub off the dead skin. Wash off the mixture with lukewarm water.
.
DonΓ’β¬β’t forget your hands and feet while taking care of your whole body. They are as important as your face. Hope you get benefited with these tips.
