7 Reasons Why You Should Exfoliate You Skin
Beauty Routine aims at taking proper care of the skin in a healthy way and also ensures that the nourishment required by the skin from time to time is provided in the correct way. So, to ensure the essential replenishment required by the skin, we follow a regular beauty routine which is well suited for a particular type of skin. There are certain beauty chores like cleansing, toning, exfoliating, massaging & moisturizing which are parts of the daily beauty routine. Here, in this post, we will discuss about the importance of exfoliation in the beauty routine.
What is exfoliation?
Skin is the largest organ of the human body and is a delicate covering. It is the outermost layer which comes in contact with the extrinsic physical factors like sun exposure, dust & pollution, climatic variations etc. and is likely to get severely affected with all of these conditions.
So, to get rid of the damaging after effects of all these external factors, Exfoliation is an essential step to maintain the health of the top layer of skin and help it in rejuvenating itself. Exfoliation tends to remove the unhealthy or dead layer of skin from the surface so that a new layer of skin is formed by the self-regenerative process and skin looks good and firm.
Importance of Exfoliation
Below are some points which depict the importance of regular exfoliation-
Makes the beauty routine effective
The genuine followers of the CTM routine reap most of its benefits as it tends to work much better on their well exfoliated skin in comparison to those who skip exfoliation in their beauty routine. All the beauty chores like cleansing, toning & moisturizing are more effective on a properly exfoliated skin.
Makes skin smooth
The removal of the tough layer of dead skin cells from the surface gives way to the regeneration of a new cell and makes it smoother than the previous layer.
Prevents Acne formation
The skin which is dead, sometimes tends to remain on the surface and the excess oil production on the skin triggers the appearance of pimples or breakouts. So, proper exfoliation removes the excess dead skin and removes the oil so as to prevent any acne formation. Exfoliation also clears clogged pores which are potential reasons to cause pimples on the skin.
Changes the skin texture
A proper exfoliation of the skin is capable of changing & improving its texture. The environmental and other factors affect the skin and make it rough and dry but if the skin is exfoliated properly it turns smooth & supple and makes it look well moisturized and soft.
Slows down Aging of skin
As the skin proceeds to start aging, the natural process of skin cell regeneration slows down and that is when exfoliation comes to rescue and keeps removing the top layer of dead cells in a natural way.
Even application of Makeup
When you have a skin which is free from the dead cells then it becomes very easy to apply makeup products in a smooth way. Proper exfoliation of the skin makes it naturally smooth so that you don’t need to paint up your face with loads of makeup. Also, it makes the products glide easily on the skin and make blending a simple task.
Improves blood circulation
Proper exfoliation is very effective for the skin as it tends to improve blood circulation in that area so that the essential nutrients present in the cells act upon the free radicals of the skin which are a reason to cause aging of the skin.

Nice post Ira.well written. My favorite exfoliator is the disprin/asprin mask. Twice a week is enough enough to slough off the dead skin.
