Lip balms are for everyone! Whether you’re a school gal, college-goer, working woman, home maker or yeah…even if you’re a guy. I personally can’t do without them since I have parched lips most of the time. So I keep running with outstretched arms to my lip balm every hour or two crying, “Where art thou? Where art thou??”. Ahem…sorry, got a bit carried away there :-D. So…where were we? Ah yes… I need my lip balms close at hand and have a very humble stash as opposed to many lip balm hoarders out there :smug:  So, here’s a post on a few easily available and affordable lip balms:

 LipIce Lip Balm Review

  • Price: 190 INR
  • Quantity: 2 gms

This looks like a non-tinted balm but turns pink a few minutes after application. The shade of pink gets intense with time and differs from person to person and the color is buildable. One swipe did not give me any color at all but 2 swipes or more gave a nice wearable pink tint that actually stays longer than a traditional lip balm. I realized this when I swatched all the lip balms on my hand and while trying to remove them with wet wipes, LipIce alone refused to budge. U can read the full review of the product here

Nivea pinkish Boost Review

  • Price: 175 INR
  • Quantity: 10 ml

best Nivea Pearly Shine reviews+8 best lip care products+natural lip balms

This comes in a tube form with a slanted tip applicator. The color appears a blue-toned pink when swatched. I was a bit alarmed at first but when blended onto the lips it turns into a lovely natural pink color that I simply love. I wish I could get this tint in a twist-up form since the nozzle is difficult to maneuver when you’re halfway through the tube. It either spurts out too much product or none at all. Also, in hot and humid weather a film of oil settles at the top. But the biggest problem I have with this is the flavor. It is nowhere near its expiry date yet it tastes so rancid…like liquid plastic or something (not that I know what plastic tastes like…just guessing :-P). You can read the full review here:

Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Review:-

Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate reviews+best lip balm India+which lip balm is the best

  • Price: 129 INR
  • Quantity: 4.8 gms

This is simply amazing! It’s got the deepest tint amongst the whole lot and smells yummmmm…! You could almost call this a sheer lipstick. It has teeny tiny flecks of glitter that (thankfully) is barely visible when worn. You can read the full review here:

Nivea Fruity Shine Pink Guava:

  • Price: 129 INR
  • Quantity: 4.8 gms

This is my current favorite! It’s got the tint I’ve been looking for since time immemorial… a muted coral pink 🙂 The fragrance again is simply delectable…a mix of guava and mango….a unique and amazing combination! Performance-wise it’s very similar to the pomegranate one… same teeny flecks of glitter and SPF 10. There’s no review for this here and if anyone is interested I’d gladly do a full review. Nivea Pearly Shine Lip Balm Review

best lip balms for chapped lips+good lip balms+lip balm sticks

My mom pestered me to try this since she’s really fond of pearly finish. When worn lightly it doesn’t look as frosty as I thought it would but it makes my lips look pretty pale. It’s a pearly baby pink shade and I doubt if it would suit all complexions. It smells mildly of pineapple cream but tastes a bit waxy. But the flavor is really mild and not bothersome. You can read the review for Nivea Glamorous gloss Pink Sugar here since the shade is a little similar.

Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm Review

  • Price: 139 INR
  • Quantity: 4.8 gms

This is a regular non-tinted lip balm. Very hydrating but can be a bit greasy in summers. Those with oily skin may not be too fond of using this. No discernible fragrance or flavor.

Avon Naturals Strawberry:

  • Price: 99 INR
  • Quantity: 4 gms

Another favorite of mine!  I love the yummy strawberry flavor and the reddish pink tint. It’s a mellow tint yet it instantly brightens up my face. Also, it’s not super shiny and greasy like all Nivea lip balms. It’s got the right amount of gloss and is very moisturizing. You can read the full review here and here

I liked this so much that I was going to get the Cherry flavored one too. But thankfully this review came at the right time:

Lotus Herbals Lip Therapy Mint Review

  • Price:INR 95
  • Quantity:4gm

I got this for a number of reasons. One, I wanted a non-tinted balm. Two, it shouldn’t look glossy. Three, it should have SPF. And four, since it was mint flavored I thought my lips would smell all minty fresh and it would act like a breath freshener too 😛 Well…it satisfied all my expectations except the last one. The mint flavor is soooo mild that I’d even dare to call this unscented! Apart from that, it did nothing when my lips felt severely dry. In winters, it hardens up a bit and leaves a whitish cast when applied. I’ve heard so many good things bout Lotus lip balms that needless to say I was quite disappointed. Bottom line: if you want to pick a lip balm from this range pick the cocoa one or cherry. U can read the full review of Lotus Cocoa here:

  8. Hey Girls! Some really interesting info on here. Thought you peeps would like Lipice Pink Sheen Gloss, I just love this stuff. It goes on smooth and makes your lips feel amazing. Like with most lip balms you don’t have to reapply this every 5 minutes and you see a difference with the condition of your lips. Mine used to be very chapped and would sometimes crack, but now they are smooth and hydrated. Really great stuff! Should also add I just love the taste.
