All About Dia Mirza’s Wedding
So finally after a lot of speculations, Dia Mirza got hitched with her long-time beau Sahil Sangha. The wedding had four different functions and took place at various locations in Delhi. It was a ritzy affair.
Dia is one of those actresses who didn’t get much success in films but still is loved by all. I like her delicate and royal looks. She usually makes perfect sartorial choices.
Coming back to her wedding, the functions started on October 16 with a low-key mehndi ceremony. Dia wore a vintage style Anarkali in gold colour. The stunning outfit was designed by Ritu Kumar. In Ritu’s own words-Â “The kurta has a vintage cut used in the courts of Agra around the 15th century. The neck is deep and worked in embroidered gota patti on net like the technique used at the time. The gold metallic taar used is of silver worked in gold thread and dori to give it a stylised plant inlay look. Each panel is highlighted with a flowering buta. The odhni is fuschia worked with small butis of the same beaten gold gota patti, a fuchsia brocade deep sinjaf finishes the edges of the outfit.”
Dia’s hair was tied in a beautiful braid which was wrapped with flowers. Her jewellery choice is commendable as the heavy outfit did not need much accessories. She wore big jhumkas, a long thin necklace and a simple mang tika.
The next day saw the Sangeet ceremony. For sangeet, Dia chose an Anita Dongre lehenga in purple/blue colour. The lehenga had gold-work all over and the beige kurti was also full of golden threads. The jewellery matched perfectly with the ensemble. Her flowing-hair and glowing skin completed the look.
The big day was on 18th October (quite tiring I guess). Dia again didn’t disappoint and turned out in an emerald green and beige sharara with hints of blue. This outfit was a reminder of lavish Mughal era and also had Hyderabadi touch. Dia wore two different dupattas with her sharara. I love her jewellery which is a perfect combination of green, gold and pearls.
Dia’s reception outfit came like a breath of fresh air. She wore her favourite designers this time. Shantanu and Nikhil designed a peach lehenga with gold embroidery. The blouse was cream with gold hues and the dupatta with cut-out work is to die for. Love her voluminous bun hairstyle. Don’t miss the carefully contrasted jewellery.
Did you notice that her makeup was never OTT. It was kept fresh and simple.
Sahil also turned out perfectly for every event and looked dapper.
We hear that many famous names attended the wedding. Gorgeous ladies Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen graced the occasion. We’ve found Sophie Chaudhary’s picture from the wedding and are loving her mirror work blouse with that bright lehenga.
Besides the beautiful outfits, the wedding set new standards in ‘extravagant’. The decorations and feast have become talk of the town owing to elegance and variety.
We wish a happy married life to Dia and Sahil.
