Of course everything comes after health and so, today Iâ€™m here to talk little on health. Since time immemorial Ayurveda is considered an essential part of our rich heritage! If you are health conscious then you must have known that there are many herbs and Ayurvedic plants which provide so many health benefits.
We use many of them for beauty and now let’s see how they can be beneficial to health as well. I have shared some extremely useful and healthy plants or herbs, as you better call it, which are known and popularly used by human to have a healthy impact on the body and mind of a person!
Ginger is well known for its anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic properties. It relieves inflammation, joint pains, menstrual cramps, headaches, etc. It can also relieve migraine headache to some extent. Also it fights against cancer, nausea, indigestion, asthma, infections, etc. Simple ways to use ginger regularly is to drink ginger tea or use it as an ingredient while cooking.
Garlic boots immunity, it has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. With its anti-inflammatory properties, it can reduce the risk of osteoarthritis. And it improves cardio-vascular health by preventing blood clotting, retarding plaque formation, improving blood pressure and reducing high blood pressure. It fights against at least 14 types of carcinogenic cells and prevents, brain, breast, lung, pancreatic cancer, etc. Garlic is also known as one of the top 7 anti-aging foods since it fights against free radicals which are the main cause of premature aging.
Peppermint is beneficial for respiratory health and so can prevent coughs and colds. It can prevent and also relieve asthma, tuberculosis and allergies. IBS patients prefer peppermint oil to reduce colon spasms. It relaxes intestinal muscles and allows gas to pass as a result, abdominal pain reduces. Peppermint oil or leaves can be used in tea to cure gas related problems. Rub this oil on your chest or inhale it through a vaporizer to clear nasal congestion. It can also headache due to tension. Just massage this oil to the temples and forehead.
It has anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. It has relaxing and calming properties and so can alleviate insomnia, depression, anxiety, stress, etc. Moreover, it can also cure many ailments right from pain to infections. It can cure nail and skin infections by eliminating all the pathogens. Also it eases sores, joint pains, rheumatism, aches, sprains, etc. It can cure acne, eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles, etc. And it is also known to improve digestion since it stimulates the mobility of intestine and improves bile and gastric juice production. It also stimulates urine production and so this helps in restoring hormonal balance and prevents cystitis, cramps, and many urinary problems.
Thyme consists of vitamin C, A, iron, copper, manganese, fiber, etc. It prevents heart disease and premature ageing and has anti-bacterial, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory properties. It prevents the risk of rheumatism, hypertension, etc. And it cures gout, arthritis, sores, water retention, skin problems, etc. It stimulates mind, improves memory, calms down the memory, improves hair growth, prevents acne, etc.
We use chamomile in the form of tea. It calms down he upset stomach, improves sleep quality, reduces skin swelling, fights bacteria, etc. Also it has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-spasmodic, anti-allergenic properties. It can treat eczema, psoriasis, rashes, chickenpox, gum inflammation, etc.
Dandelion can help in liver detoxification. It cures liver and kidney disorders. It also reduces the side effects of prescription drugs and treats gallbladder problems, infections, water retention, swelling, etc. Dandelions contain vitamin A, C, B6, thiamine, riboflavin, calcium, potassium, iron and manganese. Dandelion may also have anti-carcinogenic properties which can fight many cancer causing cells.
Ispaghula is also known as Psyllium Husk which is much recommended to patients suffering with constipation. It is laxative and can improve bowel movements. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and so can prevent osteoporosis and relieve joints pain.
Camphor has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It also improves mental health and can reduce anxiety, tension, stress, etc. Camphor oil can be used to cure colds and coughs, asthma, liver problems, hiccups, toothache, etc. It can also treat nerves pain, muscle pain, reduce depression and improve your sleep quality.
Mint leaves very well-known and very much used almost regularly or few times a week especially in India. It is a good blood cleanser, it can cure headaches, sore throat, prevent vomiting and dental problems. Pudina has anti-bacterial properties which can prevent many health problems caused due to bacteria.
Turmeric is also used almost regularly especially in India. We add this to all the curries and pulses so there’s no need to introduce about it numerous uses. Both turmeric roots and leaves have many health benefits. It has anti-bacterial properties which can prevent many health problems caused due to bacteria. The never ending list of its health benefits includes relieving joint pains, arthritis, heart problems, liver problems, indigestion issue, cancer, skin problems, etc. You can keep on listing many more things. Just keep using turmeric regularly and you don’t have to worry about anything.
Lemon grass grows in North India and is usually popular as tea. This can prevent body aches, joint pains, muscle pains, headaches, reduce depression and stress, etc. with its anti-inflammation and anti-depression properties.
We use cinnamon very often in many dishes and so you need not worry much. It has anti-inflammatory properties due to which it can reduce joint pains and muscle pains. It can prevent osteoarthritis and rheumatism. Also it can detox kidney, improve respiratory health, improve blood circulation, etc. Keep using this spice and prevent all these health issues at bay.
