Packaging: The product comes in a travel friendly sturdy flip-flop capped opaque tube. You cannot see through the tube, so you can’t make out how much product is left.!!!
My experience with Banana Boat Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:
I have super oily skin and stay in a humid place like Kolkata and most sunscreens make my skin shiny, oilier and sweaty. But banana boat lives upto its claim of being non greasy. Though slightly thick in consistency, it spreads evenly & gets absorbed easily. It  hydrates my skin well and does not leave any whitish cast. The best part- it does not make my skin oily at all.
I have used this sunscreen before and after swimming every single day and I can say I have tanned much less than previous years when I did not use any sunscreen. So I think it does live upto its claim of being water and sweat resistant and is effective for using during outdoor sports activities including water sports. But for results to be consistent, reapplication is necessary if you stay out in water/sun for longer durations.
One flip side of this sunscreen is that it does not fulfill its claim of being fragrance free. It smells weird..slightly like medicine may be … don’t know what exactly!!! But the fragrance does not linger at all. So that’s alright with me.
What I like about Banana Boat Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:
- Non-greasy, spreads & absorbs well and does not make skin oily
- Non-comedogenic, does not clog pores–total love for oily skinned girls
- Sweat resistant, Water resistant hence can be used for water sports/water activities/beach vacation
- Really works and prevents considerable amount of tanning i.e. very effective as a sunscreen
- Travel friendly packaging-easy to carry in my swimming bag
- Reasonably priced- being “banana boat â€and many top sports icons do swear by this brand(though prices vary markedly in India from website to website)
What I don’t like about Banana Boat Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50:
- Does not live upto its claim of being fragrance free
- Cannot see the amount of product remaining in the tube
- Contains silicones and parabens
- Dry skinned beauties may need moisturisation along with this
- Availability may be an issue
Final verdict: a total saviour for me from the daily exposure of harsh rays of the sun and torture my skin bears during my favourite sport-swimming. A definite repurchase for me unless I find a better substitute.
Rating : 4.5/5 (-0.5 for the weird fragrance)
