Bedtime Routine Tips For A Healthy Radiant Skin
Your skin goes through a lot during the day whether it is pollution, toxic air or harsh weather. After a long tiring day of work, all your skin needs is some rejuvenation during night time. It turns out your body can do serious work for you while you sleep. Establishing a night time skincare routine helps your skin breathe, improves skin tone & reduces blemishes. So, Ladies! Take out a few minutes every day & follow these simple night time tips to wake up to a healthy & radiant glow!
Remove All Makeup:
First & foremost, never sleep with your makeup on. Use a quality makeup remover & remove all of it before going to bed. Sleeping in makeup clogs pores & blocks the natural exfoliating process which can lead to dull skin, breakouts & ageing. In addition, use an oil-based makeup remover for your eyes to remove the waterproof liner & mascara.
Cleanse Your Face:
Wash your face and neck thoroughly with warm water and a cleanser. Using a good cleanser removes all the dirt & impurities from the skin. Warm water opens the pores & helps remove blackheads. Once you are done, gently pat dry with a towel.
Tie Back Your Hair:
Make sure to pin your hair back during night time. Either tie them into a ponytail or a braid so that they do not get on your face & cause breakouts.
Invest In A Night Cream:
Use a night cream which hydrates your skin well to keep it soft & supple. A good moisturizer soothes and rejuvenates your skin & provides nourishment. It also infuses your skin with vitamins and minerals & helps in the process of cell regeneration. In addition, you may also use a quality serum to reduce age spots & fine lines.
Put On A Sleep Mask:
To pamper your skin some more, you may also try out an overnight mask. It is a known fact that your skin repairs itself during night time. Simply cleanse & put on a sleep mask & doze off to sleep. These masks infuse your skin with antioxidants & other essential nutrients to provide additional hydration.
Under Eye Care:
The skin around your eyes is thinner & more sensitive than elsewhere on your body. Not taking proper care can lead to under-eye circles and hollows. Use an under-eye cream to replenish the skin and reduce puffiness and dark circles. In addition, you may also apply rose water or cucumber slices to relax your eyes.
Take Care Of Your Lips:
Gently wipe your lips with warm water on a soft cloth. You may also use a lip scrub at times to remove dry and dead skin. Apply a lip balm to soften and heal chapped lips.
Relax Your Feet:
We usually tend to ignore our feet whereas they are exposed to dust & dirt at all times. It is important to take care of them by applying a soothing foot cream before going to sleep. This will lock in the necessary moisture & keep them soft & smooth.
Switch To Silk Pillowcases:
Sleeping on a silk pillowcase can help your skin stay healthy and smooth and reduce the appearance of wrinkles as well. It also helps in keeping moisture close to your skin to keep it more hydrated than other fabrics. It is naturally hypoallergenic & provides resistance against bacteria.
Get Adequate Sleep: Last but definitely not the least, get a good eight hours of sleep.
This will help your reduce the dark circles & provide a radiant glow to your skin.
