Benefit Boxed Blush In Heaven Review, FOTD

My blush craze has led me through scores of brands and finishes and shades. So much so that now, my blush buys are usually only unusual shades or an uniquely designed ones. Benefit Hervana is one such unique blush I came across online last year after its release. Foreign blogs had pics of this splashed across which just served to make me more determined to get it. I finally had the opportunity when Shwe happened to go Benefit shopping for herself and was able to pick this up for me (I say it quite simply, but believe me there was alot of happy squealing on the phone 😉 )

  • Packaging: Like most of the prized blushes from Benefit, this also comes in the newly-revamped boxed packaging. Now the boxes have a magnetized lid which is attached to the box and comes with a mirror too. Unlike the other blushes where the accompanying brush is an even one, this blush comes with a handy, slanted-head brush whic is nice for touch ups. But I personally still prefer using a proper blush brush for blending.
  • Price: $28 for 8gms

  • Shade: The site describes this as an ‘Orchid Blossom Flush’..It’s really a pinwheel pattern consisting of 4shades: a light coral peach, a rosy peach, a pinky-lavender and a mild beige shade which have a tiny bit of shimmer but the kinds that come out more like a sheen. Swirl these shades together and what you get is a gorgeous shade which on me looks like a glowy pink.

  • Texture & Pigmentation: As I mentioned above, this comes off as a satin textured blush on the skin and is decently pigmented. It’s infact designed to have soft pigmentation so as to give and instant soft focus sorta look to the face as opposed to a full-on flush of color

  • Staying Power: This was a surprise to me. I thought that being a light shade to begin with this wouldn’t stay too long but it stayed on me for about 7hrs! Ofcourse these 7hrs were spent mostly in air-conditioned areas like the movie hall and the grocery store…The one time I wore this out, it lasted about 5hrs after which it faded around the edges.

This is the perfect blush for many on so many levels…I can see this being a blush for newbies, for those who just want a glow on their face without looking like they’ve applied lots of product..this is one of those wear-it-anytime kinda blushes you can never tire of.Benefit Hervana Boxed blush review+ benefit hervana swatch

Here is how it looks on me…I tried this on my mom as well and it did look a bit different. I’ve realised that this blush may look a tad bit different on different skintones. On my skin which is neutral with more pink in it, the blush looks pink…but on my mom whose sin has yellow undertones, this looked more peachy….Also, this blush would probably be more visible on lighter skintones. For skintones above NC35 or 40, this may not be identifiable..Benefit Hervana Boxed blush review+benefit hervana+fotd

Rating: 4.5/5 (the -.5 is for the issues with availability and for the fact that it costs a bomb!)
