Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream Review

For Skin Type ~ For Oily/Combination Skin

Price  of Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream is ~ SGD 27.90 or INR 895 for 50mlSelling now @ INR 695.

** You might wonder how come in the picture the tub is for 15ml? Well I purchased this one during Body Shop post Christmas Sale bazaar and for the 1st time I saw many of their product in smaller range/quantity than the usual one, but the smaller ones were not available on the shops perhaps it was only for the sale.  So I got this 15ml pack for less than $10 I think to try, not bad huh?  Did I tell you I made a killing on the sale?  More products review will come as I got lot of new things :-)…We woman does love sale…no matter what 😉 but I go for only the good ones!

Product Claim ~ An easily absorbed, non-clogging, oil-free, hydrating gel-like moisture cream. It controls excess sebum and shine whilst delivering essential moisture to areas most in need, balancing the skin throughout the day. Leaves skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and supple with a shine free, matte complexion.

Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream Review

My Experience ~

It’s difficult to get oil free or water base moisturiser trust me.  Even if the product claims it’s oily free after couple of hours you will feel oily or at least I do so.. what ever I have used.

Thus comes in picture is Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. It’s a expensive cream for sure in fact all the products in seaweed range are little expensive but it mostly worth the price.

Main ingredients are Glycerin and Seaweed. It in silky gel consistency and it’s super light( I love this part), one can really feel it with mild fragrance.  Tub has an extra lid which avoids from spell over if accidentally we drop it or to prevent leakage.

How to Apply ~ Clean face,  use your toner (if using) and apply little amount all over face and neck using finger tips. It sinks in very fast and dries easily on face.

It hydrates, mattifies, feel refreshing and can be use as makeup base.  My face mattifies and feels light, wonderful.

Cons ~ It’s back to square one.  Though this is better than most of product but after few hours one might feel oily again though not very extreme for me, can be more effective for you.  It’s also for combo/ oily skin than for blemish prone skin types.  Expensive and with no spf.

Price is on higher side but since we use tiny amount one tub can last long for 6 months or more.  First time buyer can sure try this product or as said before get the sample if available.

i also find it really difficult to find a good moisturizer which is oil-free too! now, i have came across Neutrogena oil free moisturizers for combi skin..

  3. @All, thank you gals 🙂

@Sara …ya expensive …but as I said all the seaweed products are …have you seen that frozen vegetables ad? aacha ya sasta??

@Anuya ..ya no spf but it not really total waste coz If you have oily skin …this product works real gud …I really love the oil free texture …

@Prerana..that’s great but I’m not much into Neutrogena ..I tried their oil free face wash gel and face wash form ..both useless.. the form dry the skin so much that my face was like full of wrinkles and sun burn !

I should put disclaimer that am not related to body shop by any means 🙂
