Burt’s Bees Hand Cream

Today I’m going to be  reviewing Burt’s Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand crème I was gifted some time back. This is a sample size and I guess they must be having larger tubs as well. I love their lip balms and lip shimmers and was quite surprised when I found out they had a whole range of body care products from shampoos to lotions, etc.

So when I got this, I wasn’t so intent on it and stored at at the back of my drawer to check out later. Once my Vaseline one got over I thought why not give it a try and now I do have quite a good opinion of this cream. I took these pics about 1 or 1.5 months earlier and now its almost over so I guess this is the absolute right time to review it.

Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme Reviews+Burt Bee's India

  • Price: 9$
  •  This super rich, all-natural hand cream is made with aloe vera and vitamin E to moisturize dry skin and beeswax to help seal and protect your hands from the elements. The sweet smell of banana reminds you to feed your skin with nourishing care.
  •  Usage: Smooth a small dollop of cream onto freshly washed hands. Use after every handwashing.
  • Featured Ingredient: Beeswax — A natural wax made by bees in the cell walls of honeycombs, this substance is a natural emulsifier used in cosmetics. It adds a wonderful natural smell and color to products and helps to seal and protect the skin when used in moisturizing formulas.

Ingredients:

Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, water, beeswax, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, kaolin, fragrance, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract, stearic acid, glucose, chondrus crispus (carrageenan) extract, sodium borate, tocopherol, beta-carotene, vegetable oil, glucose oxidase, lactoperoxidase.

My Experience with Burt’s Bees Beeswax and Banana Hand Creme:

  • Packaging: This crème comes in a tiny glass jar with a screw top lid. The jar itself is transparent and the crème is a very light sorta off white color. Being a tub type of packaging, it isn’t too hygenic but I do like the tiny cute li’l pot so much that I don’t mind dipping in :)  Its very travel friendly and you can just pop it into your bag and run out the door.

  • Texture: The cream looks pretty thick in the jar. However, its really soft & buttery and spreads easily and doesn’t pose a problem during application. It absorbs easily as well and doesn’t sit on the skin looking all ‘Telkat’ and yucky…

  • Fragrance: Typically as is its name, the crème smells strongly of Bananas. I don’t find it particularly unpleasant, but those with sensitive noses may find it quite annoying. Especially since the fragrance does last a while.

  •  Effectiveness: I do find this very easy to spread and a tiny bit goes a long way. But other than the smell, I didn’t find this any different from any other hand lotion I’ve used. Infact the moisturizing effect reminded me of Jergen’s lotions which is pretty good. The lasting power was not too great and I have to reapply every 2hrs or so. However, I work in an AC environ where my skin dries pretty quick, so others may have a different opinion.

This crème didn’t give me any allergies and the long lasting fragrance is  definitely its biggest plus points for me.

What I liked abut Burt’s  Bees Hand creme

  • Vary handy and travel friendly packaging.
  • Lovely fragrance which lasts a long time.
  • A tiny amount is sufficient to moisturize well.
  • Paraben, sulphate and phthalate free
  • Lasts for a decent amount of time on the skin.
  • Not too pricey considering how long it lasts.

What I did not like about Burt’s  Bees hand creme

  • Availability is a problem. It can be ordered only through  relatives staying abroad or online.
  • Would be nice if it lasted longer
  •  Would I re-purchase: Not unless gifted to me once more since I didn’t find anything different about it.
