I love lipsticks and bright eyeshadows but somehow I always felt that foundation looks very artificial, blocks the skin pores and is basically ‘Injurious to health’ Lol.In past I did try a few brands like Revlon and Lakme but it gave me ugly pimples and ended up throwing away the unused, expired tubes.

However when I saw this foundation at the Chambor counter I thought its made for me!It merges with my skin like a dream!

Price :-I bought this foundation a while ago for Rs. 925 for 15 gms
Shades:-There were some 3 shades totally. 101, 102 and 103.I got the shade dual cashew 101

What the Chambor product claims:-

Velvety rich powder foundation which gives a the skin a sophisticated look.

It’s a Foundation with Whitening action & finish. Its main USP is the Dual Usage – dry sponge for moist & natural finish and wet sponge for matte & covering finish

Chambor brightening smoothening foundation wet and dry review,

The coverage is medium, it doesn’t make the face look chalky, just makes it look neat and clean :)  Oh! but I noticed the SA’s face was like she was wearing a mask. You really have to follow the most important rule of make up here as well – blend blend blend  🙂

The best thing about this is that the foundation can be used both wet and dry. With wet sponge you get a matt finish, skin looks smoother and this way it hides more flaws. This finish remains for a couple of hours on my oily skin in humid weather. After that my skin looks shiny. But over that if I spray water lightly and dab, the face is fresh again. Else I just use the foundation as a dry powder when I can’t use a spray.

I think the wet use is better for night time and special occasions with bright lights around. With natural light the face may look artificial. I use it over my latest favorite Neutrogena  oil free moisturizer.  You need to buy a sponge separately, the product comes with a velvety puff only, which is of no help for wet application.

Mostly I wear it dry, like a compact powder as it looks natural in day light. It does give better coverage than a normal compact powder.

Chambor brightening smoothening foundation wet and dry review,

I have even tried to wear it like a concealer, with a wet sponge and slightly thick layer and it worked well!

It has SPF 12, very smooth finish, Long lasting even in Mumbai’s humid weather, Wow shade, waterproof, a nice wide mirror, and doesn’t feel like you are wearing it on the skin, neither did it give me breakouts. I love this!

Chambor brightening smoothening foundation wet and dry review,

Will I Re-Purchase it again – I’ll surely buy it again [yeah, I think I’ll finish this one!] and recommend it to others too – just make sure you get a shade right for you.

Have a nice day all  🙂

  1. I wasn’t aware that this existed. Thanks for sharing. Strangely I am finding something weird you know. MY foundations which look very natural in day light almost invisible, shows up badly in photos. I would like to try this out for sure.

Ana, about my problem any clue, suggestions or anything?

      • Ana, I wore the Boujois Healthymix which looks so natural in the day light. but with flash it’s kind of showing up. Not sure if I think its showing up in the photos or they really are. Does the coverage affect photos?

        • Mitra, since I have oily skin, I always do set my foundation with a compact, but sometimes I tend to go heavy-handed with the compact. Do you think that might be a cause?

        • it may be because yur camera is not giving the right kind of flash Nivedita..try putting up a tissue paper on the flash and then take pics.

    • May be you should ask someone else to check if it shows, in real or in a pic. If it does really show then may be try changing the foundation or try using in a different way, or may be use a different foundation for nights. Flash shows even little flaws quite mercilessly.

      • Hey, m planning on buying this. I’m kind of medium complexioned. Which shade do u think I shud be going for? Dual Cashew is for fair skin right?

  2. Nice post Pradnyaa! I’ve been using Maybelline’s whitestay uv and the pan’s almost over, but of late, it’s been going a wee bit chalky and that’s kinda bothersome! I’d love to give this a try!

    • Oh I’m not sure how it’ll be on dry skin Zara. Mine is quite oily and it gives a matt finish. Perhaps if you tried this on a good moisteriser it should work.

  3. I love this foundation! It’s the first foundation I ever used, and I’ve never bought another one. This is SO easy to use, and fortunately for me the shade is EXACT match with my skin! I also love how I can use it for sheer to medium coverage, depending on how much product I use – so on days when i feel like my skin’s looking great, I use very minimal amount. And on days I feel like I want to hide my face, I sweep more product onto the sponge and it gives medium coverage. Love it!

I use it only wet, for some reason using it dry gives it a chalky finish on my face. And I use the sponge given in the pack itself. However, you DEFINITELY need to moisturise well before using this. And it’s not necessary to use the powder part after using the wet foundation – it leaves a dewy look that might look chalky on some if powder is also added.

  4. I too used this chambor foundation, dual walnut 103 shade , I love this product, but as it is costly compared to other contacts, can you suggest some other brand in lesser price, and shade
