“Coastal Scents†is doing a great job with their hotpots. They are super-cheap, highly pigmented and blend like a dream. If you want the pleasure of owning the beautiful colors of MAC and Urban Decay eye-shadows in a budget then these are the stunning dupes. Yes, you are getting the MAC and UD dupes with equally good textures, pigmentation and staying power and at 1/12 of their price, some hotpots are even better than their MAC dupes.
Till now, I am truly very much impressed with their hotpots. So, today’s review is on another hot pot from Coastal Scents, Thistle Lavender M15.
About Coastal Scents Hot Pot:
We offer Blush Hot Pots labeled with the letter B and our eye shadows in different finishes identified by the following letters: Matte (M) and Satin/Shimmer (S). You may also select shades from our Creative Me #1 Palette labeled CM and our Metal Mania and Creative Me #2 Palettes labeled ME.
My experience with Coastal Scents Hot Pot M15 Thistle Lavender:
Packaging:Â The eye shadow pan is housed in a sturdy plastic case with a scissor lock. The plastic case keeps the pan safe and protects the product inside from any sort of damages. The shade number is written at base.
Shade:Â Coastal Scents describe it as a profound lavender hue with a soft, matte finish. It is pastel bluish purple which looks great for the subtle morning looks and can also be paired with bold shades for a more dramatic night look. It can be used alone or combined with other shades as well. Great for every tone.
Texture: I love the textures of CS hotpots. This is from their “matte†range. But unfortunately, the texture of this particular shade is dry and chalky, definitely not as silky as their other shades.
Pigmentation: Very very very poor pigmentation. It just refuses to show up on lids.
Staying Power: It didn’t even stay for an hour on me. I was amazed how quickly it just vanished from my lids, even with a good primer beneath.
What I like about Coastal Scents Hot Pot M15 Thistle Lavender:
- Pretty shade.
- No fallouts.
- Cute packaging.
What I don’t like about Coastal Scents Hot Pot M15 Thistle Lavender:
- Poor pigmentation.
- Dry and chalky
- Low staying power.
- The pigments just vanish when you try to blend.
- Not available in India.
It is a dupe of MAC Cobalt pro eyeshadow, but just color wise. Texture, pigmentation wise the Cobalt is far better. I raved about CS hotpots as they were even better than their MAC dupes, but this one failed terribly. 🙁
Final Thoughts: The color is nice, though matte formula is actually my favorite, but unless it has a gorgeous color pay off, I really fail to work with it. This happens with this too. The chalky texture, poor pigmentation and low staying power upset me and I would never buy this or recommend this to anybody else!!
