The pitfalls of having a Colorbar store close to both office & home ( a store recently opened in a mall close to my place) are that you end up spending a bomb everytime you see the store. This time was no different-I had gone to see something for a friend and my eyes fell onto these MAC baked eyeshadow kinda things. I resisted till I saw the MUA at the store wearing this particular shade and i fell for it-hook , line & sinker.Read on to know why.
Price: Rs 600.But then again these are the only veined baked eyeshadows available in the drugstore brands market. The other brands like Bourjois/Lakme have monotone baked eyeshadows.
What I feel about this newly launched product:
I will sum it up in one application:
If it was lust at first sight ,then it was LOVE at first application.
Why you ask?
Firstly its a beautiful party wear eyeshadow. Black and silver intertwined together make for a very good looking eyeshadow. The packaging is tad flimsy but functional-A round case with a transparent cover and no mirror or applicator provided.
The colour is a mix of shimmery silver and black. It is an idiot proof way of creating sultry smokey eyes in one step. The shimmer on a close look is actually multicolored instead of just silver and that is THE one thing that sets this shadow apart from all the black and silver eyeshadows in the market.
The pigmentation is fantastic-one swipe gives a greyish black look but on blending all nuances of the shade can be seen. Two swipes and you are ready to rock the evening. One step smokey eyes- it cant be better than that.I swatched all colours at the store and all of them are well pigmented. Ofcourse, when used wet,the colour intensifies.
The texture is fab.The shadow blends effortlessly and because of its multidimensional look,it gives the effect of more than two shadows applied together. Although its shimmery, the shimmer is not gritty and doesn’t fall into the eyes or travels all over the face! That is a huge plus for me as I wear contact lenses and the shimmer falling all over can really irritate the eyes.
The staying power: I wore it yesterday for 7 hours straight- The shadow was intact.I used it without primer. So I guess the neutral shades in this range will be perfect for working women
Yes ,I agree its priced heavily, but then this is the first of its kind in the drugstore makeup market. Also.the quality is on par with the high end brands-so whats not to love.
