This recipe is given to me buy a chef who works in one of the most popular restaurant of not Hyderabad but India.I was lucky enough when he shared the recipe with me and didn’t even show any tantrums or superiority.And guys Butter Paneer came exactly the way I tasted in the restaurant when I tried it at home.
Also, when he was telling me the recipe I realised that how many calories intake I have taken .Many of us don’t realise it but one of the main reason why restaurant food taste so good is the butter and cream which they put into it.
That is why this post is specifically NOT for those who can’t think of having even one meal without counting calories.
Here goes the recipe
2 cups Paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
1tsp red chilli powder
1 onion chopped
Kasuri methi/dried fenugreek leaves -2tbsp.
Coriander powder/Dhaniya powder 1tbsp
1 tomato puree
Ginger garlic paste-1tsp1tsp garam masala
Tomato ketchup 1tbsp
1/2 cup milk
1 cup cream
1tsp. cumin seeds
Salt according to taste
Method and Preparation:-
Step1– Heat around 2tbsp. of oil in a pan and fry the paneer cube until it turns beautifully golden brown in color.Take them out on a tissue paper so that excess oil can be absorbed.
Step2-Take another pan or you can keep the same pan too and add little more oil and cumin seeds when the oil is hot.
Step3– Add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste and fry them till they turn golden in color.
Step4-Add salt, coriander powder, garam masala and fry the masala for a minute.
Step5-Add tomato puree and tomato ketchup /sauce and kasturi methi in the onion.
Step6-Mix well and add 1/2 cup milk.Keep stirring the milk for five minutes otherwise it may get curdled up.
Step7– Now add paneer and cream in it.
Step8-Simmer for 5 minutes more and then switch off the gas
Butter Paneer is ready to be served.Serve it with rice, paratha, naan or plain chapati.People will end up licking their fingers.
