This is my first review in Wise She. Hope you will find my review useful :-).
Ok coming to my review, today I will review an anti dandruff shampoo for you guys.
The biggest problem I face in winters is dandruff. My dandruff problem is hereditary, how much I try to get rid of it, it comes back with double the force especially in winters (I also suffer from dandruff during summer as a bonus 🙂 )
I have tried every dandruff shampoo available in the market but of no use, the results were temporary. Due to dandruff I suffered from severe hair loss. I had to visit a dermatologist for treatment. The first thing he asked me, if I am suffering from dandruff?? He prescribed me medicines along with this dandruff shampoo and a conditioner.
Before visiting the doctor I had left using shampoo to wash my hair and was pretty happy of not using silicones and sulfates and my dandruff was in control(summer months) but came winter and also due to a hair pack gone wrong the dandruff resurfaced. I reluctantly began using this shampoo and I am quite impressed. To know why please read on.
About Dandrop Lotion Shampoo:-
Price: Rs.130 for 50 ml
Shelf life: 2 years
My take on Dandrop Lotion:
The bottle is of 50 ml. , quite a small bottle for a shampoo. So it is extremely travel friendly. The color of the shampoo is light pink in color. Texture is little runny. The smell is fabulous I mean very sweet like the smell of apples. It instantly reminded me of the Biotique apple shampoo but in this case the smell is not too over powering. I completely fell in love with its smell. I used this as mentioned that is twice per wash and keeping for 2 -5 mins before rinsing. This way I found out it works.
The smell stays for some time but towards the end of the day I can faintly smell the applesJ. I have been using this shampoo since April last year. I have just above waist length wavy hair with loose curls. I need more products and also it does not lather well so at most one bottle lasts me just one month if used twice weekly.
It does a good job in cleaning the scalp. But it makes my hair little dry, I feel it is free of silicones but not sulfates. More shampoo is required to remove the oil. To tell you precisely I was not having much dandruff at that point of time but I diligently used the shampoo for a month as I had started the treatment.
In September that year, I again went to the doctor, he advised me to continue for the next 3 months as almost all dandruff had cleared. Â But in between I switched to my natural hair cleanser and had completely decided to do away with the shampoo .Now I only use this shampoo twice or thrice a month for maintenance purpose. Â I am sticking to my all natural hair care regime in the hope of regaining my lost crowning glory 🙂
What I like about Dandrop Lotion Shampoo:-
- Effectively clears dandruff if used according to instructions
- Very pleasant and sweet smell
- Travel friendly
- Silicone free
- Contains D-panthenol and P-collagen
- Easily available in big medical shops
What I don’t like about Dandrop Lotion Shampoo :-
- Little product
- Pricey for the amount
- Doesn’t lather well
- Has sulfates
- Dries the hair a bit
Do I recommend?
Yes, I have used several bottles :-). It is far better than other shampoos available in the market. Not much claims but it effectively removes dandruff. Only problem I find is for the price it gives very less product. Maybe medicated products are to be used sparingly.
Rating: 4/5(0.5 for less quantity and 0.5 for sulfates)
Till then take care girls 🙂
