Lets go through some of her lesser known facts:

  • Deepika has confessed many times that she was pretty shy and had problems mixing up with people, and had an uncomfortable childhood due to the lack of friends.
  • Padukone worked as a child model, first appearing in a couple of advertising campaigns at the age of eight. Then we saw her as the “Lyril” girl when she was just 16.

  • It was singer Himesh Reshammiya who gave the actress her first break on silver screen. Padukone appeared in his popular music video ‘Naam Hai Tera’, after which director Farah Khan signed in her for a movie. How gorgeous she looked in that red floor gracing gown.
  • Believing herself to be too inexperienced as an actor, she instead enrolled for a course at Anupam Kher’s film academy and joined Shiamak Davar’s dance classes to polish her skills.
  • It was not “Om-Shanti-Om”, but “Happy New Year” for which Deepika was signed at first. By the end of 2006, Farah Khan’s Happy New Year was shelved, and Khan had instead cast Padukone for the reincarnation melodrama Om Shanti Om.

Though she never seriously wanted to pursue an acting career, but her fun childhood experiences helped her in her debut movie.
  • In 2013, she was ranked eleventh on the Indian edition of the Forbes ’ “Celebrity 100,” a list based on the income and popularity of India’s celebrities. The following year she was ranked eighth, with an estimated annual earnings of INR672 million (US$11 million).

Loved Deepika Padukone when she dauntlessly flaunted her tattoo that had the initials of Ranbir Kapoor, her ex boyfriend, even after their breakup. The relationship and the breakup turned her into a stronger, more confident and social person. I love when this woman talks about feminism. According to her, feminism isn’t about being aggressive; it’s about reaching the top yet being soft. It’s about being you — feminine, strong and full of will power.

A whiff of fresh air as Deepika is, she has definitely made her place in the glamour world. She is strong, someone who makes up her own mind, and has motivation within herself.

Here’s wishing her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY on behalf of our team and all the best for her upcoming projects.
