DIY – 3 Face Packs From Maize For Different Skin Types

 

Hello lovelies last Sunday when it was raining heavily my husband bought a bag full of Maize that his peer has received from his village. That rainy evening automatically spiced up with roasted bhutta, lemon and masala. We all relish that maize treat like anything, and while I was roasting the same for my family I thought of some DIY recipes using maize.

Here is a post regarding preparing Maize face Packs using one common ingredient- Maize.

Maize face pack for dry skin:

Ingredients of this face pack:

  • One teaspoon of grated corn seeds.
  • 1 teaspoon of malai.
  • 1 teaspoon milk powder.
  • 3-4 drops of Roghan Badaam.

Method:

Take one teasppon of finelly grated maize and to it add 1 teaspoon each of malai and milk powder. Now add 3-4 drops of almond oil, mix well and apply the pack on your face leaving under eye and lips area. After 15-20 minutes scrub the pack off and apply light moisturiser on the face.

Benefits:

  • Maize is a good source of beta-carotene which forms vitamin A that is vital for healthy skin. Vitamin C and lycopene are potential antioxidants which filter UV generated free radicals from damaging the skin and increase the production of collagen that assists in the maintenance of smooth skin.
  • Malai is a power pack source of lactic acid and helps in maintaining silky and smooth complexion.
  • Milk powder has all the benefits of milk. It deeply cleanses skin and also keeps skin even toned and radiant.
  • Almond oil is a natural moisturiser and is a good anti ageing agent as well.

Maize face pack for combination skin:

Ingredients of this face pack:

  • 1 teaspoon of paste of bhutta.
  • 1 teaspoon of besan.
  • 1 teaspoon curd.

Method:

To 1 teaspoon each of maize paste and besan add curd and whip to form a creamy consistency. Apply the pack on face and after 20 minutes rinse off with lukewarm water and apply a gentle moisturiser.

Benefits:

  • Maize has abundant Vitamin C which maintains the elasticity of skin. Retinol contained in corn is an essential nutrient that is needed by the skin to maintain moisture & to prevent premature aging.
  • Besan deeply cleanses the skin and also provide much needed glow and moisture to the skin.
  • Curd is a wonder ingredient when it comes to prevent skin discoloration and to remove stubborn tan.

Maize face pack for oily skin:

Ingredients of this face pack:

  • 1 teaspoon of grated corn.
  • 1 teaspoon of red lentil powder.
  • Rosewater as per need.

Method:

Take one teaspoon of grated corn and red lentil powder and red lentil powder to it add rose water to get an ubtan like consistency. Apply all over the face except under eye and lips area and wash it off after 15-20 minutes to get a healthy glow on your face.

Benefits:

  • Maize has phytic acid in corn which is a very good source of antioxidants and as a result is a good agent to prevent skin discoloration and is a very good anti ageing ingredient as well.
  • Red lentil is a natural cleanser and removes deeply rooted impurities and sebum from skin.
  • Rose water is a mildest natural toner and provides much needed hydration to oily skin.
